OILY SKIN PRIMER!!

I have oily skin and I am having some bad skin texture problems. I need a primer that will keep me matte and help with texture. I have huge pores as well. I usually use the Benefit Porefessional Primer on a daily basis. I have tried the BECCA matte primer a well and it left dry patches on my skin. I've tried other's as well. I'm going on a trip to the Bahama's in 2 week's & I NEED RECOMMENDATIONS!!

I recommend using the Hour Glass Mineral Veil Primer with the Benefit primer on your T Zone, this is my holy Grail. I combine the two daily.

Re: OILY SKIN PRIMER!!

The Dr. Brandt pores no more works wonders!

RE: OILY SKIN PRIMER!!

I love the hourglass mineral veil primer.

Re: OILY SKIN PRIMER!!

I’d recommend the Makeup forever smoothing primer. It works for my oily t-zone and pores.

RE: OILY SKIN PRIMER!!

I’d definitely recommend Cane+Austin. It’s the best mattifying primerI’ve used. Not to mention it’s a primer with a tint AND spf 50! It’s the best primer out there.

RE: OILY SKIN PRIMER!!

@darlyndar The Cane + Austin Mattifying Primer is also my go to. I've tried the Fenty, the mattifying smashbox, the Urban Decay de-slick, but the ONLY one that has kept the oils at bay was the Cane + Austin! It smoothed out my pores and doesn't emphasize my fine lines on my forehead. Plus, you don't have to use that much, so it lasts a long time. Highly recommend!

Re: OILY SKIN PRIMER!!

I definitely agree on the Too Faced Peaches and Cream primer - it has been the best at oil control I have tried on the high and low end side. I don't think it is super with pores, so I do pair it with Benefit's POREfessional in my t-zone. I also really like the Murad Oil-Control Mattifier SPF 15 and the Touch In Sol No Poreblem.

RE: OILY SKIN PRIMER!!

I recently tried the Too Faced Prime and Peachy Cooling primer and so far it’s the only thing that’s worked the best for my oily skin.

Re: OILY SKIN PRIMER!!

I tried Becca's Ever-Matte Poreless primer before and it was a disaster for me. The one I've found that I really love is Dr. Brandt Pores No More: https://www.sephora.com/product/pores-no-more-pore-refiner-primer-P139005

It melts right into my skin and doesn't break me out! Nothing seems to keep the oil at bay all day though...still fighting that fight. 🙂

RE: Re: OILY SKIN PRIMER!!

Does Pores No More have any mattifying effect? I have both oily skin and large pores and lots of primers blur the look of pores but still do not really mattify. I've been looking for a primer and foundation combo that both mattifies and has SPF because I'm 43 and need sun protection but still have really oily skin. It seems like there are a ton of primers with either one of these but almost none that do both.

Re: RE: Re: OILY SKIN PRIMER!!

It mattifies for me, but unfortunately not all day. Despite the primer, foundation, powder and setting spray every morning, I still shine by lunch.

Previously I tried the Cane + Austin primer - I liked that it has SPF. But it's even pricier than the Pores No More! https://www.sephora.com/product/prime-protect-mattifying-primer-with-broad-spectrum-spf-50-P409542?s...

Re: RE: Re: OILY SKIN PRIMER!!

Although I don't have a favorite primer however, I've used the Urban Decay all nighter setting spray (regular) and it does a great job in mattifying my face.

You can also try out Murad's oil mattifier with spf 15 under your makeup to control the oils on your face although it is not a primer.

Hope this helps!

Re: OILY SKIN PRIMER!!

Try the makeup forever primer

Re: OILY SKIN PRIMER!!

Too Faced's new Peaches and Cream line has a primer called "Primed and Peachy" that works amazing for oily skin. It becomes like a semi powder which helps to absorb the oil throughout the day. It also helps for textured skin! I use the primer everyday and swear by it.
