Need Wedding Safe Make-up

Hi all! I am getting married in two months and need some opinions on what is the best make up for oily skin. We are getting married in the heat of summer and my daily make up won't cut it in the heat. It already slides around as is. I have large pores and acne prone skin. I have been on a skin care regimen that has been helping, but I want my skin to look flawless on my big day. Any suggestions?

Need Wedding Safe Make-up

I recommend Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation to absolutely everyone, but especially people with veryyy oily skin like mine. It is amazing and I've been using it religiously for years now. Then obviously set your face with a powder after!

RE: Need Wedding Safe Make-up

Go to YouTube beauty channel Nikki Joy. She is an Aussie MUA that has extremely oily skin. She has some of the best tips and reviews on YouTube for oily skin! I have found her to be honest and reliable in her reviews. Some of the products I use can be directly contributed to her.

Re: Need Wedding Safe Make-up

@Emilynels Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Another foundation I'd recommend giving a try is Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup. I have a friend with very oily skin, who also lives in an area with high humidity and she swears by it!

For primer, I recommend trying the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer or Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector.

Re: Need Wedding Safe Make-up

I have SUPER oily skin and what saves my makeup when I go to special events or to party, is the boscia's no pores no shine T-zone treatment. I apply it after moisturizing and it keeps my face from looking like a glazed donut, the difference is noticeable! I think it's out of stock rn but if sephora restocks it then don't hesitate to buy it.

Re: Need Wedding Safe Make-up

Hi @Emilynels,

First of all, congratulations on getting married! I definitely recommend doing a test run before your big day. For oily prone skin, I highly recommend using a setting spray for oily skin to ensure your makeup lasts all day. My current favorite is the Urban Decay Deslick Setting Spray. This is the perfect setting spray for special occasions and is a top seller at Sephora.

Also, I'd recommend going into your local Sephora store and getting a couple of samples of different matte foundations. My favorite is the Giorgio Armani Power Fabric Foundation because it doesn't give flashback and is perfect for photos.

I hope this helps! Thank you for being a valued Sephora client.

Stay Gorgeous,

Penelope

Hi Penelope! Thanks for the suggestion. I didnt see your reply before I went to a local Sephora and got some samples. Unfortunately the consultant I saw didnt suggest what you did so I'll have to go back and try those because the foundation she suggested was the Fenty beauty one and the kat von d one. The Fenty one looked pretty good on my face but I could not get it to stay on in about 2 hours it was melting off my face even after setting it with powder. I still have some of that sample so I'll have to try setting it with a spray. The Kat Von D one didnt work for me at all. It looked weird and cakey on my face no matter what I did, and I could not get it to stay still. It just kind of slid around. I'm going to book a custom make over at another local sephora to do a wedding makeup trial run and I'm going to get some more samples of different foundations and some primers (I was using benefit porefessional with the first 2 samples). Are there any other foundations or primers you would suggest? Ive heard the new Tatcha silk canvas primer has worked well for oily skin. Is it worth a try? 💖Emily
