Milk Makeup Hydrogrip Primer

Does the  MILK MAKEUP Hydro Grip Hydrating Makeup Primer with Hyaluronic Acid + Niacinamide 1.52 / 45 mL work great for oily skin? It does say it is for all skin types but I would like to see who has used it and what are your thoughts.

RE: Milk Makeup Hydrogrip Primer

I got the Milk Makeup Hydrogrip prime during the sale but have not used it yet. My skin is soo oily I am trying to figure out a good day where I won’t be real busy Incase it doesn’t work out. 🤷‍♀️

Re: Milk Makeup Hydrogrip Primer

I just started using it a few days ago and I did see a difference in the staying power. First off, I have super oily t-zone and this doesn't stop oil from coming through. But what's nice is that it works great with my foundation (Too Faced peach perfect) and my foundation doesn't break apart by the end of 12-hour wear. This is not really pore blurring so if you have enlarged pores as I do, you'll have to use another primer over the pores.

RE: Re: Milk Makeup Hydrogrip Primer

What is a good primer for the pores I heard Tatcha is a really good one but is it worth it?

Re: RE: Re: Milk Makeup Hydrogrip Primer

Tatcha will definitely make you oily a lot faster, @JeanetteLeona. I literally only use that primer for my undereyes. I also own Milk and I do like it when I wear lightweight foundation because it will last longer, but you will touch up throughout the day. My Holy Grail Primer for oily skin is definitely  Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer Standard Size - 1 oz/ 30 mL . It will keep your oils at bay and give you a flawless base. My makeup always lasts a long time when I wear it.

Re: Milk Makeup Hydrogrip Primer

Hi @JeanetteLeona ,

I really love the feel of this primer and how my foundations apply on top of it.  I am very oily and I think it works well with other foundations than others. I wore it with my Lancome Teint Idole Foundation Stick and I was very oily by the end of the day, but I wore it with my Make Up Forever Water Blend Foundation and it looked fine at the end of the day. I think you will probably have to play with it to see but so far, I like it.

Best Wishes,

Janean

RE: Re: Milk Makeup Hydrogrip Primer

Thank you I used my new foundation I got which is the Estée Lauder long wearing and it didn’t look right for me so I ended up not taking it I am just going to stick out my Becca Primer because I gave that a shot and it lasted me ALL DAY thank you !

Re: Milk Makeup Hydrogrip Primer

@JeanetteLeona I have combo skin- so not oily, but I still have oily spots. I really liked the hydro grip, I gave it a try when I went in intending to buy the blur stick. (I used one on each half of my face and then my normal Nars foundation over)

The hydro grip gave a plump, natural finish and kept my makeup in place with definitely less oiliness than some others I've used (but still some) showing through my makeup after 3-4ish hours but nothing had moved around. It doesn't have the same level of perfecting effect as the blur IMO. The blur and the hydro looked and felt exactly the same on my face at that point in time, but the blur had gone on way drier so I would say the Hydro is/ looks/ feels more consistent throughout the day

RE: Re: Milk Makeup Hydrogrip Primer

I finally tried it and I looked dewy in 2 hrs well more and like oily and I didn’t like it much because I’m very oily sadly but I’m glad you gave me your opinion it is much appreciated!

Re: RE: Re: Milk Makeup Hydrogrip Primer

@JeanetteLeona Such a bummer 😕! I was really impressed with how much less oily my nose especially ends up throughout the day, but there's no product that works miracles for everyone. Good luck on finding your match!
