Matte Foundation

I am almost 40 and I'm still as oily as if I were a teenager (possibly more) . I wash my face with blackhead and pore cleaner. I also have the charcoal mask I do 2x's a week & the only moisturizer I use is cetaphil. However, I just bought the hourglass immaculate matte foundation along with the veil primer. Most reviews people raved about how good it was and how they didn't set it. After using it I looked so greasy and disgusting that I had to keep blotting all day. I don't want to spend that much money on something and then have to keep doing that. So are there any other ladies out there with the same issue? What foundation do you use with what primer? I want a full coverage matte, but not cakey looking. I want something that will last for hours... is there anything out there?!

the Cover FX mattifying primer works well for me, then Es...

the Cover FX mattifying primer works well for me, then Estee Lauder double wear foundation in powder, applying by dabb8ng a damp beauty blender sponge with it and pressing onto your face. I then use NYC HD concealer, and set very lightly with the dry double wear powder with the velour side of the puff it comes with. Good to go all day. The primer is everything to starting right. 8 used to use the YSL color correcting cc cream but found it made my nose too oily. Good luck !

Re: Matte Foundation

Cover Fx Pressed Mineral Foundation is a matte foundation that works great. You can build it up to full coverage as well and it doesn't get cakey. I have oily skin especially around my nose and this foundation keeps the oil under control.

Re: Matte Foundation

Hey im 26 and another oily girl. i have cysitc acne, adult acne, and sensitive skin just to give you a background. i would try the lancome teint idole foundation if i were you and if that doesnt work possibly the estee lauder double wear. i love the teint idole and i havent tried the double wear yet but its supposed to be great for oily skin the only problem is it can supposedly get cakey easy.

as a side note, and you may know this already and it may be different for you as all our skin types and preferences differ, but i would change your skin care routine if your having more oil than normal. i found that the more i use clay and charcoal and sulfur masks the more oily i became. i only use one of those a week. the rest of the week if i want a mask i usually use moisturizing or brightening and its really helped. the more drying products you use the more oily you will become because oil is your skins way to combat dryness. so basically your skin is trying to overcompensate for the drying products.

i would also invest in a really good moisturizer. nothing too thick as that can be problematic for oily skin but gel moisturizers or emulsions usually work great for oily skin. personally i love the belif aquabomb. not the moisturizing bomb as it is too thick and a cream .

Good luck with your foundation search hope this helps 🙂
