Hey all! I just wanted to say thanks to every one who read/commented on my post. As a follow up, I’m still wearing makeup! I try to match my skin as perfectly as I can without making it look like I pile product on. I start with an spf moisturizer, applied with a brush, after my cleansing routine. I’ve ditched the redness reducing primer because I haven’t found one I like, and I think the one I have just takes the moisturizer off my face. I then apply a BB cream with a damp sponge. I then apply my foundation with the same sponge and finish with matte setting spray. One important trick I learned that no one shared was to avoid getting makeup on eyebrows and hairline (this is hard. I often just clean it off when I’m done). I also like to blow my nose and clean my lips after I’m done applying so the natural skin tone shift is still visible.

@mtftrans, @MissPuff is exactly right, you can achieve a more defined look if you like by removing stray hairs and then going back in with product to clearly define the edges of the brow. A very clean defined brow is the trendy look but of course if you want something more natural, just go natural But I find even a little more definition gives a ladylike polish. You have light coloured hairs so it can be easy for you to "edit" your brow shape I have sparse brows myself, so some days I like to emphasize my arch while other days, I fill them in more straight, depending on the look I'm trying to achieve. Generally, straight/full is associated with youth and thin/arched is associated with a more mature look. Also, pls check your msgs for resources - we cannot post links on the board

Hey y’all so I’m a black teen, I love to wear foundation just to cover up my acne. I use NARS Longwear Foundation so I have a pretty good budget. I’m looking for some other foundation brands I can test out and any foundation applying tips for someone of color. I am a rather darker shade.

I really like Clinique’s Moisture Surge after daily cleansing. Although, I use a separate after shave on days I remove facial hair. I’ve tried several moisturizers on the price spectrum, and this gives the best bang for your continued buck. It’s lightweight, yet powerful enough to get the job done. It absorbs cleanly, quickly, and leaves no shine. Hope this helps. Happy hunting.

I’ve found that using the smallest amount of concealer, like a dot in the center of the under eye area, then blending out gently with a small brush works best for me! High end concealers with lots of pigment really don’t need to be applied as heavily as I’ve seen in some tutorials. I honestly don’t even bother with setting powder, though I am a fan of setting spray. Of course everyone’s skin is different, but as someone who found this to be the biggest struggle, this was my solution!

First of all, its hard with small lids. The Trick is to widen the look of the surface area. 1.)Try high arching your eye brows wich will increase your brow bone space. 2.) Pencil on water line and lash line instead of liquid or thick lines. Line the bottom of your eyes. This widens the look of your eye and highlights your eye shape. 3.)  Don't use heavy or dark eye shadows as they deepen the space that is not there, Instead neutral color from brow bone to eye lid, than with an angle brush cut crease a shape in slightly above your real lid than blend lightly with a buki brush.
