I could be wrong, but maybe color correction would help. Speak to someone at Sephora about it. I use to do drag, a lot of the performers would use a reddish color on their facial hair areas to mask the 5 o’clock shadow. Then go over it with foundation.

If you want to take a more affordable route you can go with FENTY BEAUTY BY RIHANNA - Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation. It is also medium coverage just like Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk. To further sheer it out you can mix the foundation with FENTY BEAUTY BY RIHANNA - Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Primer. That is, you use the primer twice. Once to prime your face and then to sheer out the foundation. I feel that using a primer rather than a moisturizer locks-in the foundation.  Men usually have larger pores in comparison to women, so using the primer to sheer out the foundation helps with makeup staying put on your face for at least 11-12 hours. I feel uncomfortable touching-up or blotting in public restrooms as I have had men look at me weirdly, so I prefer something that lasts me at least 10 hours so that I don't have to do it in front men that may not be comfortable with men using makeup.  To complete the look, I would suggest misting the face with a hydrating setting spray like TARTE - 4-in-1 Setting Mist - Rainforest of the Sea™ Collection to make it look luminous and radiant.  My skin fluctuates between oily and combination, so I use URBAN DECAY - All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray.I spray a little more than I need so it takes away the matte, powdery look of the foundation and makes it look more natural and radiant. Fenty Beauty foundation is soft-matte anyway and it is more "natural looking" than any other foundation.  Initially when I started seeing my boyfriend, he thought that I had flawless skin. He was quite impressed with my makeup skills when I told him that I use makeup.

I would suggest colour correcting your skin using a green/orange corrector and then going over it with GIORGIO ARMANI BEAUTY - Luminous Silk Foundationto even out your skin tone. This foundation is suitable for every skin type and is medium coverage so it looks like natural skin. An even skin tone is very important to get the eyes to pop and look perfect. Even minor imperfections could draw the attention away from your eyes. An even skin tone provides a blank canvas for your eyes to hold the centre stage.  I also feel that they use a nude shaded lip stain or lipstick on his lips as well. To make it look natural you can put a drop of a lip balm like JACK BLACK - Intense Therapy Lip Balm SPF 25on the back of your hand and mix it with a drop of any nude lip stain to sheer it out. Then you can use your ring finger to tap it on to your lips to make it look natural and even out your lips as well.  The next step would be to play with different types of eye liners in the beginning. I would suggest starting out with SEPHORA COLLECTION - Retractable Waterproof Eyeliner. When you get comfortable with that you can start experimenting with different eye shadow palettes. The “MORPHE - The Jaclyn Hill Eyeshadow Palette” is one of the best all-rounder palettes out there. It has a wide range of highly pigmented shades at a very affordable price. Weirdly, it didn't let me tag the product, so I had to put it in quotes.   Hope this helps. Good luck!

I mix FENTY BEAUTY BY RIHANNA - Stunna Lip Paint Longwear Fluid Lip Color - Unveil with JACK BLACK - Intense Therapy Lip Balm SPF 25. I take about one drop each and sheer it out on the back on my hand and then tap it on my lips with my ring finger. You can choose any nude shade that is closest to the colour of your lips.

Just wanted to say that not all of us here are looking to present as a woman. (I am assuming that from your username, if that is not the case apologies) I’m just a dude that happens to love makeup. For me “passing” is nobody noticing unless I want them to. I love this stuff, the process, the result, everything. I like looking my best, and covering roseca, blemishes and a few facial scars from sports is what I most often do daily. And I am getting really good at it. Some days when I use a makeup wipe at the end of the day I am surprised at how much I had on. When done right in my book it’s invisible. I have been known to do some waterline eyeliner or some super subtle eyeshadow to deepen my eyes. I cannot do mascara as my lashes are obscenely long, a fact that bugs my GF lol. This is a great place to learn and see great work, also to get ideas to make our own. Makeup can 100% be used to be more masculine, or feminine, or both. Blurring those lines is fun sometimes and others it can be scary. That’s where I feel like I can empathize with you. I feel like men should experience wearing a bit of makeup just to feel a small taste of what women experience. Have a guy call you names, or look at you weird and I can only guess that is as close to feeling Misogyny as a man can actually get. It opens your eyes a bit to toxic masculinity. I hope I didn’t hijack your space here, I just wanted to add some value and maybe include perspective and how I look to “pass”. Yeah it was a bit of a struggle for my wife. We both grew up in the 80’s so it wasn’t a huge stretch. But just the same, we are all programmed by society that men just “don’t, shouldn’t, can’t) wear makeup. But that is shifting a bit. I support what you are going through. Gender is NOT binary, it’s fluid and varies by person. Femininity is not something men should run from, we need to embrace and integrate those parts.

Hey all! I just wanted to say thanks to every one who read/commented on my post. As a follow up, I’m still wearing makeup! I try to match my skin as perfectly as I can without making it look like I pile product on. I start with an spf moisturizer, applied with a brush, after my cleansing routine. I’ve ditched the redness reducing primer because I haven’t found one I like, and I think the one I have just takes the moisturizer off my face. I then apply a BB cream with a damp sponge. I then apply my foundation with the same sponge and finish with matte setting spray. One important trick I learned that no one shared was to avoid getting makeup on eyebrows and hairline (this is hard. I often just clean it off when I’m done). I also like to blow my nose and clean my lips after I’m done applying so the natural skin tone shift is still visible.

@mtftrans, @MissPuff is exactly right, you can achieve a more defined look if you like by removing stray hairs and then going back in with product to clearly define the edges of the brow. A very clean defined brow is the trendy look but of course if you want something more natural, just go natural But I find even a little more definition gives a ladylike polish. You have light coloured hairs so it can be easy for you to "edit" your brow shape I have sparse brows myself, so some days I like to emphasize my arch while other days, I fill them in more straight, depending on the look I'm trying to achieve. Generally, straight/full is associated with youth and thin/arched is associated with a more mature look. Also, pls check your msgs for resources - we cannot post links on the board

I really like Clinique’s Moisture Surge after daily cleansing. Although, I use a separate after shave on days I remove facial hair. I’ve tried several moisturizers on the price spectrum, and this gives the best bang for your continued buck. It’s lightweight, yet powerful enough to get the job done. It absorbs cleanly, quickly, and leaves no shine. Hope this helps. Happy hunting.
