Hi everyone I am looking to get my makeup done for the first time I am a straight but I would really like to experiment with make up any tips?

I love that more men are wanting to experiment with makeup! I’m amab genderfluid and I wear makeup in boy-mode and girl-mode. I started off with cheap makeup from the dollar store or on sale at the drug store. They weren’t the most pigmented or best shades for my skin tone but it was cheap and gave me an opportunity to experiment.

Nude shades tend to be more forgiving since they naturally kinda blend in. Colours that pop take more time and effort to blend nicely.

And as already mentioned, try talking with people at makeup counters if you can. My experience for the most part is that they tend to be non-judgmental and are a wealth of knowledge. 

And remember, it’s just makeup. If you don’t like it, take a picture and wipe it off. The picture is there to let you reflect on what you liked and didn’t like. Keep doing what you liked and change up with you didn’t next time around!
