Re: Thoughts on the makeup eraser ? ?

For me the Makeup Eraser works. Another option is Erase Your Face..similar concept but comes in a 4 pack from Bed Bath and Beyond and at a better price point. The Makeup Eraser is softer but both do the job.

I'm on the search for a cleansing oil but I like this option for less waste than traditional makeup remover clothes until I find an awesome one. Maybe give the Erase Your Face a try @KimorasMom07 since it comes in a 4 pack and it's not as much of an upfront cost and see if you like it before investing in multiple Makeup Erasers.

Re: Thoughts on the makeup eraser ? ?

@KimorasMom07 I use the Sephora version 2 black clothes, do have a Makeup Eraser sample to try, it is effective and easy to wash..hang dry in between uses. Have heard TJ Maxx/Marshalls can have the original. The original has two sides, one is softer than the other and for exfoliation.

Re: Thoughts on the makeup eraser ? ?

Hi @KimorasMom07

I got one as a gift last year, but haven't reached for it much... I was surprised that it did work, it just didn't take off my mascara. I stopped using it because i didn't want to have a dirty cloth hanging around and having to wet and reuse it the next day. It seemed like a waste of water to have to chuck it in the laundry each time or having to wash it by hand after each use.

How about switching over to cleansing balms or oils? You can definitely cut back on all the disposables 🙂

Re: Thoughts on the makeup eraser ? ?

@mmmiu what kind of mascara do you use? The easiest way I found to remove mascara is to hold the cloth on it so it starts to break up. I do this a few times with hot water and it seems to work.

I agree having the dirty cloth hanging is annoying but if you give them a go occasionally, I recommend trying how I use it for mascara. Hopefully it will work for you!

Speaking of cleansing balms and oils..I'm using the Boscia Makeup-Breakup Cool Cleansing oil and have been unimpressed. Especially when I use tinted SPF I have a bunch left on my face when I do a wipe with micellar water after using the oil. I wanted to try the  CLINIQUE Take The Day Off Makeup Remover For Lids, Lashes & Lips 4.2 oz/ 125 mL when it was the weekly wow but of course it was out of stock at my store. Any suggestions?

Re: Thoughts on the makeup eraser ? ?

@ShortErica The Clinique Take the Day Off for lashes works great on mascara,  even my waterprood Diorshow. I've tried their Balm, but it doesn't work as good for me on my BB balm as #Tatcha Camilla Cleansing Oil. I use that with their Rice Powder and it works great!! 😊

Re: Thoughts on the makeup eraser ? ?

Thanks for the suggestions @yankeefaithful. I think finding an awesome cleanser (skincare item) will help keep me on track for my makeup no buy and skincare smart buy.

Re: Thoughts on the makeup eraser ? ?

It’s the heroine make long & curl (Japanese mascara). It’s actually known to be difficult to remove Lol but it’s one of the few that’s won’t  give me panda eyes 🐼

Re: Thoughts on the makeup eraser ? ?

@mmmiu  heroine make long & curl - brings me back memories, I purchased it once when I was in Japan and never in my life I've ever used a mascara as difficult to remove. Made my lashes beautiful, but I gave it away!

Re: Thoughts on the makeup eraser ? ?

@KimorasMom07 I’ve used them in the past and I do find the makeup eraser to be effective! That being said - definitely go within a darker color. For some reason eyeliner and mascara stained my pink original one and it always looked gross and filthy, even right out the wash! Also you’d have to probably pick up a few (which can get pricey) unless you’re ok with having to wash it every other day. That being said, I did go back to makeup wipes but I use less because I do a preliminary wipe with the eraser on days where I’m wearing more, so it takes off a good portion, and then I finish up with one makeup wipe, so I’ve cut back on how many I use. Hope this helps!!

Re: Thoughts on the makeup eraser ? ?

I have MU eraser and the face halo (same purpose, but different design and material). I prefer the face halo, since it feels more plush and softer on the skin. MU eraser tugs a bit.

Both do a great job and do a better job then wipes.

@KimorasMom07 I actually love love the MU eraser! although it says you can just use water, I tend to dip mine into the farmacy green clean melting balm. ( while it's wet) and it works great. I also use these MU erasers to remove any masks I need to wipe away. hope this helps

Re: Thoughts on the makeup eraser ? ?

I have the original pink MU Eraser and also the Sephora black magic set. I'd say go for the black magic set because you get two cloths and they are a good size, the MU Eraser is oversize in comparison and you only get one.

I have a love/hate relationship with them - they do a great job of cleaning off makeup, no doubt about it, however they feel 'weird' on the skin, like rubbing an actual rubber eraser on your face. it can cause skin to drag which i worry causes wrinkles and I just dont like the feel of it. I use mine now to dry off my brushes after washing.

If you are looking to steer away from wipes, I recommend getting muslin cloths, you can get a pack of 10 muslin face clothes from ebay or amazon for under $10 inc shipping, they are resuable many times, wash well and have a slight exfoliating action. They can be used with cleansers and even face washes etc. (A bit like the Eve Lom system, but buying the cloths off amazon is far cheaper!)
