Hi everyone! As we all head out to the Holiday preview event in-store for Rouge members today our lovely admin @KatieBT asked that we show her, and the community, what we got. So if you have stories to share about your store experience (hopefully all good), pictures of swatches, pictures of a make over you received, or (everyone's favorite) pictures of a haul post it here! Katie was so nice to post very late into the night pictures from the Sephora Holiday event that she attended in NY with all the newest launches so let's return the favor! My friend and I RSVP'd to Chinook but weren't able to make it this morning, so I guess I contributed to the lack of crowd. 😉 The last morning event I attended at Chinook (I think holiday preview last year?) was way less crowded than usual, so maybe it's a morning event thing!

I'm excited to see a full CT counter!! I'll need to check it out soon!

@bakeamuffin for sure! Next event we'll have to see if we're going to the same store 🙂 I think Chinook has become more of a favourite of mine since they moved, but sometimes we switch it up (or I'm late to RSVP 😉 )

Since they renovated and moved to the larger space it’s an absolutely amazing store! I also find that they have it pretty well lit con it’s in a mall, market mall location seems so dark.

I was hoping that they would have Christmas music since it was a Holiday Preview, but was also doubtful since it’s September @Mcakes. Perhaps the snow we got helped to influence the decision 😄

I got home a little while ago. I chose a store in a major tourist area because the service has always been amazing there and I figured they might not have too many locals going to that location, and I was correct!

I arrived around 8:45, had my name checked off the list at the door (they were definitely checking names and Rouge cards and nicely but firmly turning away people who were not Rouge or their guest), was handed a basket and began to shop. It was so nice being able to shop without fighting crowds, I don't think there were ever more than maybe 25-30 other shoppers while I was there, and at least 10 Sephora staff and brand reps. I don't do well in crowded, noisy retail stores, but the music was pretty low and I for the first time really felt like I could take time to look at, smell, and touch everything I wanted to in a Sephora store.

They had branded bottles of water to hand out, but no food or coffee.

I got a quick tutorial on contouring my nose--usually I don't like make up done in the store for me (major germaphobe--I wash my hands 25-30 times a day, and I work from home), but I really wanted to learn how to do this, so I went for it.

I also spoke with the Kiehl's rep who was in the store for the event for a few minutes--my skincare routine has been 50-75% Kiehl's for almost five years and he asked a lot of questions about what I'd like to see them add and what I don't care for with the line. Kiehl's had a small GWP with two products, one that I don't care for but my husband likes, and one isa product I haven't tried but have been interested in, so that was nice.

I bought four of the holiday sets and a highlighter. The GWP was the make up bag which doesn't have any samples in it. It's a good quality but I get so many of these that I donate them to an organization that collects them and unused make up samples to distribute to teens in the foster care system. My store was also giving a cute Urban Decay makeup bag with a couple deluxe size samples--both are things I use so I was glad to get them for travel, and I might just have to keep that Urban Decay bag. 🙂

It was definitely worth getting up for, I really loved being able to shop in an uncrowded and relatively quiet store. The associates were there when I had a question and left me alone otherwise, which is exactly how I like to shop. I would love to have an opportunity like this on a regular basis--maybe every couple of months open even 30 minutes early for Rouge customers without any extras except a quiet, relaxed shopping experience.

@flamingolegs It sounds like the event was def a hit for you. Also, how great was it to have a Kiehl's rep there. That worked out well and i'm sure that you scored some useful information.

That's awesome that you had a great experience @flamingolegs ! It is so nice when you have room to move around in a Sephora. The one I have now is so tiny that it's really rare to have that experience. When I lived in Vegas and had access to multiple Sephora's it was heaven lol 😄 The UD gift bag they gave you is so cute!
