Show Me Your Alter Ego! ๐Ÿ‘ค๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸŽค๐Ÿ‘ธ๐Ÿงž๐Ÿง

@darlyndar got me thinking in another thread... here on the internets people might (understandably) not want to post photos of themselves on a public message board, but we also share so many of our thoughts and aspects of our appearance here...

So out of curiosity, and putting "real" photos aside, are there certain images of yourself you hold in your mind's eye when you create a look or buy makeup? Part of the fun of makeup and hair is being able to step into a more idealized or exciting version of ourselves... are there characters or people who embody a style you try to create in your own looks, or who have a quality or "essence" you seem to capture?

Both of mine are sort of accidental. The first definitely wasn't a "look" I was after... it just sort of happened: MTV first aired this show called Daria in my third year of high school (in a suburban school I had newly relocated to), when I was a sardonic nerd with glasses and auburn hair and wore an army jacket and Doc Martens to school every day. I'm still flattered that they made a whole cartoon about my life. ๐Ÿ˜‚

The second one I've started leaning into more lately, but the resemblance wasn't ever pointed out to me until after I already had anime-purple hair for ages and then got a haircut I just thought was neat:

@fieldsofclover This is a really cool idea for a thread! I have no idea though, I'll have to get back to ya!
