Sephora large train case locks

For the life of me, I can’t get this thing to lock! It has two locks on the front, I tried both and couldn’t get either to lock. Nor could I see anything in the mechanism that would actually lock it. Do I have a defective case, am I doing it wrong or am I just having a really big blonde moment?? Please help!! This thing is super expensive and I would like for it to be fully functional or I’ll have to return ☹️
