Help with makeup

I have dry skin and all my makeup is silicone based my makeup gets real patchy around my nose what should I do. my foundation is L’Oréal true match and my concealer is elf hydrating camo concealer with Nyx studio perfect face primer in clear

Re: Help with makeup

I have pretty dry skin too especially in the winter, and the best concealer I’ve found is the Glossier Stretch Concealer for Dewy Buildable Coverage ; It’s very hydrating, definitely needs a little setting with powder in places it would crease, but once you set it, it’s  pretty long lasting and has buildable coverage. I also used to use the elf one and definitely prefer the glossier one for dryer months!

Re: Help with makeup

@bubblebee19   I have dry skin as well, try looking into some kind of hydrating mist or toner then a serum, then a thick moisturizer and then your primer.

If you want a face mist the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Ultra-Fine Mist 2.53 oz/ 75 mL is good but a cheaper alternative could be the La Roche Posay Thermal Spring Water (you can find it at ulta or target). If you want a toner the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow PHA + BHA Pore-Tight Toner 5.07 oz/ 150 mL is good (there is a mini version as well and it’s still a nice size).

For serum the Elf Holy Hydration Triple Bounce Serum or The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Hydrating Serum with Ceramides (this one is actually cheaper than elf surprisingly) are nice. For moisturizer i like the CeraVe moisturizing cream but the Cetaphil moisturizing lotion is amazing as well.

Wait a minute and then go in with your primer (I personally use the elf poreless putty primer when i’m using silicone products). Also, be sure to give the skin care products time to sink in and absorb into your skin instead of immediately going in with your foundation or else it will pill.

Another thing to remember is to be careful not to overpower your face. Instead of directly going from the pan or container of powder onto your face, pat your powder puff (or whatever you use to set) on the back of your hand to tap off excess powder but to also even out the product before applying to your face. Good luck!

Re: Help with makeup

@bubblebee19 @Have you tried switching to a different primer, foundation, concealer? Are the foundation and primer for dry skin?  If not that could be the reason.

Re: Help with makeup

No all my makeup is silicone based it’s not for dry skin I just found out but I’m willing to switch to water based makeup
