Fresh Makeup

I am looking to fresh up on my makeup. Don't want to look like a clown. Have hazel eyes and creamy natural skin. Oily and sensitive skin with lots of red spots. I do like this photo.IMG_7893.JPGI am trying to also figure out the best eyeliner design for my eye shape...

Re: Fresh Makeup

Also, to help you easily determine your own individual eye shape & for shadow & liner techniques based on eye shape, visit silphaahuja.com & once there, type “eye shape” into the search.

Re: Fresh Makeup

Your looks remind me a lot of the actress Naomi Grossman (I mean in REAL LIFE—NOT in ‘American Horror Story’...LOL).

She’s actually attractive in real life & her make-up is always flawless & very flattering. Perhaps google some images of her & get some ideas & go from there.

Re: Fresh Makeup

Hi @Anonymous something to note, your reference photo, that woman is wearing quite a bit of make up; there is nothing wrong with that of course. I do a full face M-F for work.

Are you confident in your make up skills? We can definitely help recommend products to help you achieve that look.

Re: Fresh Makeup

My skills are okay. I don't understand the whole concealer etc. Maybe draw attention to my eyes....

Re: Fresh Makeup

@EPaden Concealer is typically applied after you’ve put on a base (foundation). If you are going foundation free, then you would apply concealer to places like the red spots you mentioned or places like under your eyes that you want to brighten up.

You can either match your concealer to your skin tone, or one shade lighter if you wish it to have a brightening effect. My favourite concealer is Nars. I have both the liquid and cream versions: NARS Soft Matte Complete Full Coverage Longwear Concealer Biscuit

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer with Medium Coverage Madeleine

if I want more coverage on any given day, I go with the creamy, if I just want a quick conceal I go with the Radiant Concealer which is liquid.

Re: Fresh Makeup

I appreciate your contribution but your post was/is EXTREMELY confusing.

Can you please re-read it to yourself & then clarify for myself & others, so that we may potentially benefit from your effort to share your experience with & knowledge of NARS concealers?

You list the names of two different NARS concealers as 1) “Radiant CREAMY Concealer” & 2) “Soft Matte Complete Concealer.”

But later you state that “If [you] want just a quick conceal...go with the Radiant Concealer [did you mean ‘Radiant CREAMY Concealer’?]” immediately followed by “which is LIQUID.”  Even more confusing, you also state that “If [you] want more coverage, go with the CREAMY.” So it seems you’re saying to “go with ‘the creamy’” (i.e. the Radiant Creamy Concealer) in both instances, for different purposes/effects, which I’m sure is an unintentional error. And the “Soft Matte Complete Concealer” you list is never mentioned by name in part or full when describing which concealer you use for what.

It’s also impossible (for me) to distinguish which of the two products you llist (if either) is NOT creamy (or NOT a cream formulation); or which (if any) IS in fact a liquid formulation (or if you just personally find one of them somewhat more fluid than a typical creamy concealer formulation or cream-based concealer), & what you recommend using the product with ‘soft matte’ in the name for (& whether it’s cream or liquid).

Thank you!

Re: Fresh Makeup

@GG84 - That's interesting.  I use concealer under my foundation; after all, I'm trying to conceal (hide) something.  The foundation is going to cover everything I put on prior.  For example, I use a yellow color corrector on redness followed by concealer on top and under eyes, then foundation overall and setting powder.  (I also do a full face M-F as well.)  Guess it's personal preference.  🙂
