Foundation Recommendations

Hi, I'm looking for a new foundation and would love some help. I've been using Nars Tinted Moisturizer. I like the look, but I hate the feel. I've tried the Lancome Tiente Idol 24 Hour Wear, but it's a lot more full coverage than what im used to. It feels very light and comfortable but I feel self concius because I'm not used to the look of it, if that makes sense. 

So I'm wondering about another foundation that is less coverage and feels light and barely there. Thanks.

@faiths13  I just recently went through trying to find a new foundation.  I don't like the "full coverage" look or feeling on myself either.

I ended up buying Westman Atelier Vital Skin Full Coverage Multi-Use Foundation Stick Atelier XI 

It's medium coverage but lightweight and breathable...feels like nothing on my skin! The product is not dry at all, it's very creamy and a little goes a long way. I love that I can build it up or sheer it out with my fingertips, brush, or Beautyblender. And, it feels hydrating/moisturizing on my skin because it's skincare infused. I feel like this Foundation moves with my skin and doesn't crease/settle into lines or pores. My skin still looks like skin with this Foundation, not 100lbs of makeup.

Another favorite of mine is Hourglass Veil™ Hydrating Skin Tint Foundation 13 

It's a Skin Tint/Tinted Moisturizer and it's also lightweight and breathable with a barely-there feel. It is so easy to apply with fingertips, a brush, or Beautyblender. It provides great coverage and it's very Hydrating. My skin still looks like skin!

If you want a medium coverage, liquid Foundation that doesn't look like it's full coverage, I love Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Natural Glow Foundation 9  

It's beautiful and can be built-up for more coverage or sheered out with a Brush or Beautyblender. It doesn't look like I'm wearing a ton of makeup.

The DIOR Forever Skin Perfect 24H Multi-Use Foundation Stick 5 N Neutral  is beautiful, just like the Westman Atelier Foundation Stick, but Dior has fragrance and I wanted something without fragrance...and I just loved the Westman formula and feel a little more. I still plan on buying the Dior Stick because I loved it and I like to switch between Foundations.

If the Lancôme Foundation is too much coverage for your liking, you can add a little bit of Moisturizer or Hyaluronic Acid Serum to the Foundation to thin it out.  And/or, if you apply the Foundation to the back of your hand and lightly work it into your hand with a brush and then use a Brush or Beautyblender to apply, you will only pick up a minimal amount of product on your application tool which will give you a lighter, more natural result.  Make sure to moisturize your skin and use a Makeup Primer before applying Foundation so that your skin is hydrated and ready for makeup, but also because moisturizer and Primer will help the Foundation apply better and you'll get great coverage with less product. 

For HA Serums, I love Drunk Elephant B-Hydra™ Intensive Hydration Serum with Hyaluronic Acid 1.69 oz/ 50 mL  and  Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare DermInfusions™ Fill + Repair Serum with Hyaluronic Acid 1 oz / 30 mL  

And, if you buy a Foundation, or any product, at Sephora but end up not loving it, you can return/exchange it within 30 days from the date you purchased it (even if it was shipped, it still goes by the purchase date).

@faiths13 , Most foundation will offer medium/full coverage because of their ingredients and the idea that they are going to have an extended wear time, so they don't usually feel as light.  You can sheer out a foundation with a primer or filter/highlight, my favorite way to wear the older version of Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Liquid Foundation was with their primer Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Mini Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Primer 0.5 oz/ 15 mL .  I also like using DIOR Forever Glow Star Filter Multi-Use Complexion Enhancing Booster with foundation or wearing it on its own.  You can also use Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Hue Drops Serum and Saie Glowy Super Gel Lightweight Dewy Multipurpose Illuminator similarly.

You could branch off into stick foundations.  Usually that's a happy medium because you can apply them in layers and directly.
