Charlotte Tilbury Contour Wand Tips?

 Hi Ya'll! Looking for some tips & tricks to help with CT contour wand application. I start with the milk hydrogrip primer, then follow with either with ELF halo glow or the Urban Decay Hydromaniac foundation. I find that when I try to blend (either with a slightly damp beauty blender or an angled brush), the CT contour spreads like CRAZY, or patches up so bad!! However when i spray it with setting spray then blend, I get some better results... yet I still look like a fool lol.

 

I believe all of the products I use are water-based, so I'm unsure why the separation is so bad (correct me if I'm wrong). Any tips on how to get that seamless lay with the contour wand? Tools, application, etc.? Thanks so much ! 🙂
