Beginner Makeup Advice

Hello! 

I hope you're doing well. I wanted to know if anyone had some advice on using makeup. I am looking for a clean and simple makeup routine preferably with little to no foundation and makeup that is affordable. Since I am a beginner I am looking for any drugstore makeup recommendations. 

Does anyone have any brand of natural lashes or lip combos that look good for everyday wear? 💄 Do you happen to have advice on finding the best shade of bronzer? Also, does anyone know if primers are needed for skin tints?

@itssnia @Affordable makeup would be Maybelline and Colourpop found at Target. 

if you are looking for clean and simple makeup Glossier would be a good brand for you. 

beginner lashes-Ardell.  Ardell 110 or the individual lashes would be perfect for you. 

For bronzer do you want luminous or matte?

you don’t really need primer. It’s based on individual preference. I like wearing one to blur imperfections and for my makeup to last longer. I just did a no makeup makeup look on my gallery page. 

everyday lip color- I would get a my lips but better color or a lip balm.

Hi @itssnia. Have you considered using your skincare as a a primer? If your skin is nice and hydrated, it can take makeup a lot better than when it’s dry. As for drugstore makeup, I find Maybelline to be a nice balance of affordable but effective. For lip colours though, have you considered SEPHORA COLLECTION Sheer Matte Lip Balm? I tried their previous offering for lip balm before it was discontinued and it was very hydrating. Haven’t tried this yet but it looks promising.

Hello! I have not considered using my skincare as a primer. I always thought that a primer was a product such as the elf primer but I will try this out next time! Maybe Ill use a tinted sunscreen. I haven't tried the matte lipbalm but Ill try and find it next time i go to sephora. 😁

@itssnia I forgot to mention Sephora Collection makeup is affordable and does a really great job. I use their foundation, concealer, brow pencil and eyeliner in my routine and even a few lipsticks. The spring sale starts tomorrow and their stuff will be 30% off.

Also, a quick tip: Sephora doesn’t automatically tell people when someone’s replied on here. We use @ to tag them so that they do get notified. 🙂

I am new to the community so it will probably take me a while to get used to using the community tab. 😅 I will also check out the Sephora collection since I wasn't aware that Sephora had its own makeup collection. I'm interested in finding a tinted moisturizer or tinted sunscreen so I hope that Sephora has one 🤞
