Beauty Hacks-Sephora Community Ambassador Edition

I have tried to answer and help as many members on BIC over the last decade or so. I made a list of beauty hacks that have helped me and may help others as well.

If you want to try a new technique, practice at the end of the day before you take your makeup off or wash your face.  Remember practice makes perfect and it’s just makeup (you can always wipe/wash it off).

If you make a mistake or don’t like how your eyeshadow looks get a cotton swab with some cleansing oil to erase the area you want to do over.  Make sure the area is dry before you apply makeup over it.

Having a hard time finding things in your makeup bag? I like to use a Kipling pencil case to store my liners, mascara, and primers in.

If you struggle with eyeliner, use a kohl liner and draw little dots close to the lash line and connect the dots. Another tip is to use eyeshadow first with an angled brush and go over it with liner (heard it from Kandee Johnson-OG Youtuber).

Scotch tape or shadow shields can help guide you if you have a hard time with winged liner or fallout.

Use Inglot Duraline to revive dried out liner in pots.

If you find strip lashes are hard to apply, use one with a thinner band or cut them into sections and then apply. Remember to wait 30 seconds so the glue gets tacky to apply as close as you can to the lash line.

If you have a hard time with a cut crease and concealer isn’t working out for you, try using an eyeliner to map out the cut crease instead.

Having a hard time finding your shade match for foundation? Try a custom mix by mixing 2-3 shades together.

Use concealer or a makeup wipe to clean up outer edges for lipliner or eyeliner that doesn’t look perfect.

Apply a gloss to the center of your lips so it can make the lips appear fuller.

Apply some translucent powder to the bottom of your eye to catch any fallout. Then when you are done it is easy to brush away.

Add a little clear gloss to the top of any lipstick and you can make it into a lipgloss (a MAC artist told me this one).

Spray MAC Fix+ on your brush and then dip into the shadow you want to use to intensify the color.

Here is a picture of how I store my liners, primers and mascaras.

That flat pencil case is a smart idea @SportyGirly125. I use some cheap ones from the dollar store, but they don’t open like yours and I still have a hard time digging around for what I need.

@JoSometimes @I have had mine for years. The 100 size has a flap where you can put more liners in.  They also have it in a 50 but doesn’t have the flap.
