Tips for keeping lipstick on?

I feel like I have tried everything to try and keep my lipstick on all day but nothing seems to work. 2-3 hours later and my lips have almost no product on them. Looking for suggestions, tips and best long lasting brands.

RE: Tips for keeping lipstick on?

There are some really good long lasting brands out there (like Kat Von D, and also Sephora Collection brand Lip Stains), but I will always first and foremost recommend a lip primer. Bite Beauty makes an amazing one, I never apply any lip product without it. It keeps my lips moisturized and the color lasts all day long, no matter what the brand. Seriously consider trying the Bite Line & Define Lip Primer before buying a whole new set of lipsticks.

got a Kat Von D liquid lipstick and love it so far 🙂

Fenty’s Stunna lip paint lasts through anything! It is easy to apply and to take off but it stays forever.

Tips for keeping lipstick on?

Hello, have you tried Beauty Bakerie lip whips or Morphe lipsticks? Beauty Bakerie lasts all day. It's really good. I can put it on at 9am and not have to really it all day. I'm waiting on my Morphe order.

I have not tried them but I will definitely look into it.   Thanks.

Right now, Coloured Raine has liquid lipsticks for $5 (sale). They're good too. Beauty Bakerie's #WhatSmudge is real. Coloured Raine is another great one.

Hi @BriH12,

Great question! I have the same problem too. Especially after eating, all my lip products are off. The one thing I highly recommend is looking into trying a Lip Primer. They are designed to keep your lip color on. My favorite is the Bite Beauty Line & Define Lip Primer. I've been using it for a couple of weeks and it has definitely increased the staying power of my favorite Bobbi Brown lip color. I hope this helps!

RE: Tips for keeping lipstick on?

Certain products will last longer than others, ones I find last longer for me are the NARS lip pencils, Kat Von d liquid lips, and the ysl stains. If you want more wear time from regular lipsticks you can try applying a lip liner to the whole lip, blot, apply lipstick, blot, lightly powder lips, then reapply lipstick, blot, then last coat. This should get you at least to lunch when you can reapply. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the tips!

Re: RE: Tips for keeping lipstick on?

Yes! Co-signed @maria108!! Kat Von D liquid lipsticks, NARS pencils, lip stains—all great suggestions! I've also had really great luck with an indie company called Black Moon Cosmetics, which seems similar in formulation to Kat Von D.

And the new one to watch: Fenty's new Stunna lip paint!! Right now the only color is Uncensored (a "universally-flattering" red), which only needs one coat, never gets dry or flaky, and lasts all the way through dinner, as tested by me. I hope Fenty plans to release more colors, but Uncensored really is the least-movable red out there that I've found.

As for lip liner (which IS imperative for stopping any non-drying lip color from feathering), may I suggest Urban Decay's "ozone" liner? It's clear, and it comes in a lip-liner version and an "ultimate" "multipurpose" version, the latter of which is larger-barreled so you can use it on other parts of your face (to keep foundation from crawling into creases, for instance). I highly recommend it!!
