Laneige Sleep Mask - Thoughts?

I recently purchased the Vanilla Lip Sleeping Mask by Laneige. Goes on very glossy and smells great but when I woke up the next day I found that my lips were not silky smooth...anyone else have this happen to them? A friend of mine just uses it as an every day gloss which seems to defeat the purpose of a “sleep mask”. Anyone have recommendations for other overnight lip care options?

Re: Laneige Sleep Mask - Thoughts?

@Margy3 I find that I get the best results if I apply it twice a day.  Once in the morning and once before bed.  I really like it, but for me I find the term "sleeping mask" to be more of a marketing gimmick; I just consider if a very good balm.  I do agree with the recs to try the Bite, though 🙂

Re: Laneige Sleep Mask - Thoughts?

Put it on really thick, as thick as you can comfortably layer it.

In the morning immediately apply for favourite lip balm to rehydrate and help loosen any dead skin but don't try to exfoliate it yet (gross I know!)

On the second or third morning of this routine, gently buff over your lips with either a damp cloth or your own clean finger works fine too, you should see dead/exfoliated skin balling up a bit as it loosen and removes.

Remember to do this part as gentle as you can to avoid over-tugging at the delicate skin!

Apply lip balm again after exfoliating

And voila!

This has been the best method I have found to using the laneige lip mask!

Re: Laneige Sleep Mask - Thoughts?

I've been using this lip mask since I bought the variety set they put here on Sephora last fall. I had never tried it before that.

I have been using it every single night since then, and I do understand what you're saying about the mask not being there anymore when you wake up.

I also own the BITE BEAUTY - Agave Lip Maskand although it does stay longer on my lips, I actually find that the stickiness annoys me all night long, and when I wake up my lips are covered in super gross sticky residue especially in the inner rims of my mouth.

So, with that being said - Yes the  LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask Intense Hydration with Vitamin C Berry doesn't last quite as long, but I find it the most comfortable and my lips are still overall soft when I wake up, even if the mask itself has absorbed. That's not the case when I use the other brand.

So I guess it depends on your personal preference! 🙂

Re: Laneige Sleep Mask - Thoughts?

I know there are a lot of people who love the Leneige lip sleeping mask, but I agree with @lmaster , it's very meh to me.  I prefer the bite beauty lip mask.  I find that it's a lot thicker, so when I wake up in the morning I can still feel it on my lips.  I'll use up my leneige, but it won't be re-purchased.  The leneige to me feels like a regular pot-style lip product, where I'm left feeling as though I need to put something on in the morning when I wake up.

Re: Laneige Sleep Mask - Thoughts?

@missjeanie same!! I won't repurchase any even if they try to come out with different flavors!! 😅

Laneige Sleep Mask - Thoughts?

@Margy3 my thoughts on the laneige sleep mask...Mehhhh lol I also prefer bite beauty over laneige

Re: Laneige Sleep Mask - Thoughts?

If I exfoliate with something like the Winky Lux lip scrub or the BITE BEAUTY - Agave Sugar Lip Scrub before applying the mask it makes my lips have that silky smooth effect.
