Do guys like seeing black girls with red lipstick?

I'm black and like to wear red lipstick, my friends who are also black always say they could never unless it was a special occassion. I thought guys liked it and In like it so I wear red lips almost everyday. I'm not dark skinned but i am black. My skin color is kind of like nicki minaj

@Anonymous  I'll join the "wear the color YOU like, no matter what anyone else thinks" chorus. But I also need to say these things, as a woman with a deep skin tone: 

The depth of your skin tone doesn't determine which lipstick shades you can wear, unless you personally don't like how certain shades look on your own skin tone. I generally don't like beige shades of lipsticks with my deep skin tone because they wash my lips out. But some folks who have my skin tone love how those shades look on them—and that's okay! There's no blanket rule about lipstick colors for various shades of skin. 

I'm in my late 40s. I know a few folks my age who still won't wear red lipstick for various reasons: they feel it's a special occasion shade (one of my friends feels that way about berry lipsticks, too), or they think it's too racy/promiscuous, or they're stuck on the stigma of black skin + red lips thanks to old racist imagery. Those last 2 reasons are terrible, but they're fueled by a fear of other people's opinions. I wear red lipstick because I love how it looks on me, and anyone who has a problem with that can go do things I can't say on BIC without getting caught by the bad words filter. 😂

Also: guys aren't all attracted to the same things. Some guys hate red lipstick on anyone, regardless of their skin tone, while others love it. 🤷‍♀️And some guys don't care what lipstick color you wear, because they're more interested in your personality than your makeup. If the only reason you wear red lipstick is to please guys, well... I won't tell you not to because hey, I'm not the makeup police. But I'll reiterate the importance of wearing lipstick shades you personally enjoy, focusing more on what pleases you than what pleases others.

You wear red lipstick if you want to wear red lipstick. If you want to wear pink then wear pink - if you don’t want to wear ANY then don’t wear any. Makeup is to make YOU feel more confident in your own skin and not for anybody else.

@Anonymous You wear what you want and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. A lot of people are afraid of the color red because of how intimidating it is. It took me a long time until I finally wore it.

Studies do show that men are more attracted to the color red.

As for your friends, it's just their opinion!  You should wear what you want or experiment with different shades of red lipsticks.  There's a red lipstick shade out there for every skin tone.  It's ultimately about what you like and feel confident and pretty in!
