Do guys like red lipstick on girls??

I want to wear red lipstick/lipstain for prom but i'm afraid my date wont like it. I like him a lot and want to go out with him and stuff but i dont him to be turned off by my red lips at prom because ive heard of a lot of guys who say they dont like it. i have pale skin and dark brown hair so red lips really compliment me and i can pull it off well so i dont look silly with it on or aything and i was going to wear a lipstain so if we do kiss or makeout its not all over him. but do guys like the overall look of red lipstick?

From a guy who loves to see women all decked out the one thing that makes me go wow is a pretty girl wearing red lipstick. Some of us guys love wearing it as well!!!

Wear it only if it makes YOU feel happy and good about YOU. Thats my take on it and it seems the others concur.

@Anonymous I normally don’t comment on posts like these, but this one felt important. 

1. You should wear what makes you happy and makes you feel good. So if it’s red lipstick and it’s hurting absolutely nobody (which it isn’t) then you should do it. Genuinely, nothing is better when you can be whomever you want to be and find people that truly accept you for you! So if you want to wear navy blue lipstick one day, do it! Your “people” will gravitate towards you. 

2. I know it’s hard to trust a random person, so definitely trust your loved ones/family first. But as a random person, I’m gonna say it anyway- Trust me when I say this...no decent guy will turn you away because of what color lipstick you wear, if you do or don’t wear lipstick, or even if you wanna wear wacky clothes. I know this from experience. I’ve had guys say they don’t like it for XYZ reasons, but if they like you and are genuinely decent *mature* human beings, they’re not gonna care! All they’ll want is for you to let them kiss you! I don’t know your age range, I presume high school age, but one thing to point out is that youth comes with less experience and maturity. Please don’t take that the wrong way, it’s simply to say that while guys may feel “ewww” about it now, as they mature, they’ll realize they were being silly! 

think about it this way, if you love lipstick, wear it! And it acts as a great way to filter the bad apples from that one really great guy that will like you for you! And will hopefully have enough maturity to genuinely not be rebuffed by something minor like lipstick or otherwise. I know it may be hard since you really like him, but be you! You’ll be much happier in the long run for being loved and accepted for exactly who you are.

You are never more confident or beautiful than when you do what makes you feel good and that's the real turn on to men (or whomever). Do you girl! I have never compromised my cosmetic style for anyone and believe me... I hear it all, positive and negative! Have a great time!!

@Anonymous You should wear what you want. I personally have had only positive reactions. I will never forget one day a guy at my old office who I liked looked at me and said, "You look really nice today." I was wearing all black and my hair was pulled back and I thought I looked like sh** but I had gorgeous red lipstick on and I was positive that was what drew his attention. I don't wear red lipstick for others. I wear it because I LOVE red lipstick. I feel 20 times more confident when I wear it too. I say do it!

I agree that you should wear what makes you happy, and it sounds like you know what you can pull off. I've always loved the look of pale skin, dark hair, and red lipstick. It sounds like you've really thought this through and figured out that guys can be reluctant to kiss a girl wearing tons of lipstick because they don't want to get it all over, and who does? But there's a reason red lipstick never really goes style, which is because generally speaking, guys like it! Even if your particular date isn't crazy about red lipstick, on a special occasion like prom when you are looking happy and beautiful, he's not going to let a little lipstick keep him from kissing you!! Have fun!

@Anonymous I say wear the lip color for you and not him. Prom is special and should be one you don’t regret or forget.
