Dior Forever Night

@WinglessOne I tried a lip brush application with powder between two application layer and it worked for the Forever night. It's actually a much prettier color applying this way. I'd still like a lip liner tho.

@Margalee  I’m glad you got it to work for you! 

I don’t have Forever Night, but the closest 2 shades in my hoard are probably PAT McGRATH LABS MatteTrance™ Lipstick McMenamy 200  and SEPHORA COLLECTION #LIPSTORIES Lipstick 33 Wanderlust —though I think Forever Night may be a deeper and slightly warmer blackened burgundy than Wanderlust. I did some quick lipstick vs. lip liner swatches for you. I never wear lip liner with either of those lipsticks, but if I did, I’d choose one of these: 

Thinner/smaller swatches are lip liners. I tried to pick shades you can still buy (though not at Sephora), otherwise I’d have also included a discontinued liner.

Liners are: 

• Pat McGrath PermaGel Ultra Lip Pencil, Deep Void - more purple/cool-toned than either lipstick. 
• Lisa Eldridge Enhance & Define Lip Pencil, Midnight - also more cool-toned but not as dark. 
• MAC Lip Pencil, Nightmoth - a near perfect match of Wanderlust but slightly cooler toned than McMenamy. 

Of course, which liner you choose depends on the overall look you’re after; might not be one of these 3 liners at all. I’m sure you’ll find something that meets your needs. Heck, I’d be surprised if Dior didn’t have a good liner option for their own lipstick. 🙂
