VIB Rouge FAQs

 

 

1.) What is VIB Rouge?

VIB Rouge is our newest and most premium membership tier. When you spend $1,000 on merchandise purchases (excluding gift cards, egift certificates, taxes & shipping) on Sephora.com, in U.S. and Canadian Sephora stores and/or in Sephora inside jcpenney locations within one calendar year (January-December), you qualify for VIB Rouge status. VIB Rouge is good for the calendar year in which you qualify and the following calendar year. Annual re-qualification is required.

 

2.) When did VIB Rouge begin?

VIB Rouge launched on July 23, 2013. If you spent $1,000 in 2013 by July 23, 2013, you qualified for VIB Rouge status.

 

3.) What qualifies as spend towards VIB Rouge?

All merchandise purchases (excluding gift cards, egift certificates, taxes & shipping) on Sephora.com, in U.S. and Canadian Sephora stores and/or in Sephora inside jcpenney locations during one calendar year (January-December) count towards the $1,000 spend requirement. VIB Rouge is good for the calendar year in which you qualify and the following calendar year. Annual requalification is required.

 

4.) Do merchandise purchases made a Sephora inside jcpenney locations count towards the VIB Rouge spend requirement?

Yes. All merchandise purchases (excluding gift cards, egift certificates, taxes & shipping) count towards the $1,000 spend requirement.

 

5.) Is VIB Rouge available in Canada?

Yes. VIB Rouge is available in Canada.

 

6.) When does my VIB Rouge status expire?

VIB Rouge status is good for the calendar year in which the BI member qualifies and the following calendar year. Annual requalification is required.

 

7.) What benefits do I get as a VIB Rouge client?

As a VIB Rouge client, you receive the following benefits:

8.) If I am VIB Rouge, do I still qualify for regular BI and VIB benefits? Yes. In addition to all the additional benefits you receive as a VIB Rouge member, you still receive all the benefits Beauty Insiders and VIBs receive.

 

9.) I have 1000 points, why don’t I qualify for VIB Rouge?

If you have accumulated points over the years and have 1,000 points in your Beauty Bank, you must still spend $1,000 on merchandise at Sephora.com, in a Sephora retail store or in a Sephora inside jcpenney store within a calendar year (January-December) to qualify for VIB Rouge. VIB Rouge is good for the calendar year in which you qualify and the following calendar year. Annual requalification is required.

 

10.) I haven’t received my VIB Rouge Welcome Kit.

Where can I get one? When making a purchase online at sephora.com you will be prompted to add a VIB Rouge Welcome Kit to your basket during the checkout process if you qualify for Rouge status. When making a purchase at a Sephora retail store or Sephora inside jcpenney store, your cashier will give you your VIB Rouge Welcome Kit if you qualify for Rouge status.

 

11.) Will I receive the same VIB Rouge Welcome Kit online as I would in store?

Because you do not need a Beauty Insider membership card to shop online at Sephora.com, the VIB Rouge Welcome Kit you receive online will not include a membership card, but it will include everything else the kit includes. The VIB Rouge Welcome Kit you receive in store will include a membership card.

 

12.) Will returning merchandise affect my VIB Rouge Status? If you have qualified for VIB Rouge, returning merchandise will NOT affect your current year’s VIB Rouge status. However, annual requalification is required.

 

13.) I have already signed up for 2-day Flash shipping, but as a VIB Rouge client I receive Free Standard Shipping. Will I be reimbursed?

As a VIB Rouge member, if you would like to be reimbursed for Flash shipping please call Customer Service at 855-RougeVIB.

 

14.) Are the “Special Surprise Gifts” VIB Rouge clients will receive going to be the same samples we receive today as VIB members?

The same great offers will be offered to our VIB members throughout the year; however, additional offers will be available to VIB Rouge members only.


15.) I see a "VIB Rouge" board in BeautyTalk, but I receive an error message when I try to access it. Why is that?

The VIB Rouge board is exclusively available for VIB Rouge members. When you reach the Rouge level you will be granted access to the board.

oh btw. I called VIB hotline because some of my JCP sephora purchases were not counting towards my year to date spend total... the tech team needs to look at my account. Not a big deal because after my last 2 orders from yesterday process, I will be Rouge.  But it would be nice if the 100's of dollars I spent at JCP were added BEFORE the 2, 3 ,4 points week.  Sorry I'm venting, im just annoyed.

 

Just an FYI to other BI, or VIBS... be sure to check if your JCP purchases that didnt post to your online account were added to your YTD total .

It's been 50/50 for me. I've had to call or email on a few occasions when I bought at SiJCP. I always give it a week and then call. Kind of a pain though. Although I will say now that they have been scanning my Rouge card there have been no issues. So maybe there was just a hiccup before.

Where can I find the status/how many points I need to reach VIB Rouge status. I have been searching high and low with now luck. Also, I think it's a great idea, but having to reach $1000 every year is ridiculous to me. as far as the average person and not MUA I think it's a little far out there. I love sephora but I will always shop the sale, whether its with the brand itself or other companies that don't require a free shipping minimum. That being said I do spend a lot money here and will continue, just think they should make a more realistic goal and not a yearly requirement.

How do I get my Rouge Welcome Kit online? I'm newly qualified for Rouge (and my status on the site says I'm VIB Rouge), but I don't see a chance to add the kit when I try to place an order. I get all the way to the "place order" page and I don't see it.

I made a online purchase that's included my Rouge welcome kit, but doesn't have a actual membership card, only has a "All year beauty studio visit" paper card.  So if I shop at Sephora retail store will they give me the actual membership card again?

@highfashionmodel, you will have to pick up a Rouge kit at your local Sephora for a physical card :).

I am super confused about the "annual requalification is required" clause that they put everytime it says "and the following year" So if I reach rouge this before december this year... Do I get it untill december 2014 or not.... are they just saying that if I want to extend into 2015 I have to spend 1000 in 2014... or are they saying that unless I also qualify in 2014 I don't get to keep it :S 

 

Also: When it says "except gift cards" That's when use purchase something using a gift card, right? Not when you buy a gift card for someone else? Or is it both?

If you qualify for Rouge before December, you DO get it through December 2014. If you want to keep Rouge status uninterrupted through 2015, then you'll have to qualify again in 2014. 🙂 

 

About the gift cards, it doesn't count toward your total when you buy them, but if you redeem a gift card then it will count towards your dollars spent. If you think about it, when you get a gift card you're exchanging regular dollars for Sephora dollars, but those dollars haven't actually been spent until someone comes back and redeems the card, right?

Can I get a VIB Rouge Card at the Store even if I receive my Card online?  Or do I use my Old Silver VIB Card still?

I received my VIB rouge kit in the mail without a membership card as stated above.  I would, however like to have a regular membership card.  IMO after spending so much money at sephora over the years, I deserve this little luxury and am very disappointed.

I think it states on-line & in the facts that you can only get the card in store. 😞

Hi Solaceclothing, Yes, DannyC is correct. The cards are not included with the online welcome kit. You must visit the store to receive a new VIB Rouge card.
