@eshoe I think the best bet for this would be to go halfsies with someone who lives in the same city as you. I wish I had friends here that liked makeup as much as me so we could split it! I've seen some of their items cheaper than they are in the States so it would even out.
@eshoe The shipping is pricey but it's expedited shipping. I placed my order on Monday 11/19/18 and it was delivered the day after Thanksgiving and came all the way from London.
@SportyGirly125 Oh yeah, I saw! $30 yikes! Anybody have the unlimited shipping they want to let me borrow? Lol
Does anyone know of a male fragrance that would fit in the “clean” category (somewhat natural)? Mainly I just don’t want it to include phthalates. I was thinking of this one based on the notes, but it will be a gift for a man and I’m afraid they won’t wear something that seems marketed to women.
CLEAN - Reserve Smoked Vetiver
Or any other suggestions? Thanks so much!
Oh perfect @GG84. Thanks so much. I didn’t know about that one.
Does Too Faced Born This Way wear waaaay darker than how it looks? HSN has a Today’s Special tomorrow with that foundation and some other stuff but I never tried it so I did 4 shade match things and they all gave me Porcelain, which is described at “very fair,” even though I don’t wear fair shades in anything else. I’m on the lighter end of light, I wear Light Neutral in Tarte Rainforest for reference.
@alexasteph YES, it does! Both the Born this way foundation and the concealer wear darker on me compared to the peach line. I’m usually not the palest shade but on the “light” side in most foundations and with the BTW line, I have to wear the palest shades to avoid looking like an Oompa Loompa.
@gonerogue Okay, so weird! I wonder why it’s like that. Are you a fan of that foundation, minus the weird shade stuff? I am happy with my foundations but it’s been awhile since I’ve tried something new...
@alexasteph I’m actually not a fan of that foundation at all! I think it’s geared more towards normal/dry skin because I have oily skin and it made my skin extra oily within a few hours. I am, however, big on the concealer as it is the most full coverage and hydrating concealer I have tried. If you have oily skin, I wouldn’t worry about trying it out. If you are on the drier side, it might work very well for you as I know it’s a HG product for my normal/dry skin friends.
@gonerogue Hm, I lean more combo so maybe it wouldn’t work out too well... Thanks for the feedback!
Help! I'm having a bit of a skincare issue with minor breakouts all of a sudden (uncommon for me).
Only significant change recently: I'm on a new medication, and I suspect this may come into play - I'll be on it for awhile (just over a month now), so that can't change. I also started using the Glow Recipe Mask 2x per week about 6 weeks ago at night.
Skin type: true combination (dry on cheeks/chin, oily T-zone) prone to congested pores (especially chin/cheeks and T-zone at times). Fairly well-balanced right now, leaning a little oily with the heat/humidity.
Routine: In the morning, I cleanse with CeraVe Hydrating cleanser. I spritz with the Province Apothecary Invigorating and Balancing Toner (which I do not love - could be an issue for my skin + pores). Followed with Pixi Rose Ceramide Cream. Follow with La Roche Posay SPF.
Evening: Remove with Clinique TTDO cleansing balm, followed by CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser. Follow with Pixi Retinol tonic about 3-4x per week, and either Glow Recipe mask or Sunday Riley Good Genes. Moisturize with Clinique Redness Solution daily cream (newer addition, but I've used it before).
Problem: I have noticed more clogged pores, and a couple more significant whiteheads - on my cheek/chin/jawline. Trying to figure out what I should tweak or add to help with the small breakouts. I'm thinking maybe Paula's Choice BCA as I've had luck with that in the past, but stopped using it a little while ago.
try the fresh clay bar... it does wonders for pores as a mask! it also works wonderfully as an overnight spot treatment 🙂
@lachaton I know you’re posting to get answers but do you mind if I ask you a question? 😊
I used Clinique Take the Day Off Balm today for the first time, which you mentioned that you use regularly. I rubbed it all over my face and then tried rinsing it off, but it left a coating on my face that I don’t really like. I had thought it would break down my makeup and then rinse away completely. Am I doing something wrong?
@PinkEvergreen of course!
You might need to clarify exactly how you're using the cleansing balm.
I scoop a bit out into my hands and warm it between my palms, then spread it onto my face and massage it in gently. I then apply water to allow the balm to emulsify. I then rinse all of it off using a washcloth. Now, I admittedly double cleanse so I then follow up with a cleanser. But I don't have any issues with a film or residue left behind.
@lachaton This is exactly how I used it. It left such a film that I did end up double-cleansing out of necessity. When it said “Take the Day Off” I assumed it would be very simple to use but it made my routine longer lol 😂 It is the first cleansing balm I have used so now I know!
@lachaton Paula’s choice is a good way to go or try Sunday Riley Good Genes if you have it. I slept with my makeup on for 3 nights last week (big no-no but I was exhausted and knocked out the minute I got home) and broke out in whiteheads like crazy. My good ol Sunday Riley Luna+Good Genes has been helping clear my skin once again so I think you should be good with Paula’s choice/Good Genes!
Thanks @gonerogue! I'm already using Good Genes fairly regularly (as indicated in my first post) and I was still having issues, although maybe I needed to change how I was using it. I also ended up getting some more Paula's Choice, right now I'm trying the new pore serum from the Environmental Defence line. Seems to be helping so far! *fingers crossed*
@lachaton Ok, maybe your skin got used to GG and needs a different but similar product? I hope your skin clears up soon! Let me know how the new product works for you 🙂
Can anyone recommend a good volumizer? I've tried big sexy hair root pump/plus, Bumble and Bumble thickening spray (really like it, but the alcohol in it irritates my scalp), Alterna caviar volume spray, and Biomega, but my hair still falls flat. For reference I have fine thin hair cut in a lob that's shoulder length with a bit of an oil scalp. Would love one that isn't super sticky like you've just sprayed a ton of hairspray ether. Thanks in advance!
