Show me your rainbow makeup collection! This was so fun and satisfying to do! Organizing your makeup in different ways can really put things into perspective! I was thinking about organizing by brand next time to visualize how that would look! I mostly went based off of packaging, or just the most prominent color. I didn't include some products or brushes and tools. You may disagree with some of the placement of the colors, but I just put them where I felt was right! All of the products in this photo are ones that I am currently using, none of them are empty, even if they appear so! I like to use every drop! In the brown photo, you can clearly see what my favorite drug store concealer is! @vallyyyyy  I love this idea! I love anything organized by color (I am one of those weirdos who organizes my books by color lol), and this is so satisfying to see your beautiful collection! I will have to try to do my own collection this way when I can, it looks so fun!

yesss I would love to see it!! it is not practical for me for everyday storage, but keeping it organized like that for a little bit was so satisfying!!

Colors of Blush 🌷 

I definitely didn't make a rainbow from my blushes but I tried to organize them by color family. 

Gold and Peaches in bottom row, Orange, Pinks and Rose in the top.

@CynthieLu  haha, I definitely do! 💜 If I posted my nail polish collection too, I think a good 40% of them at least are different purples 🤣 I can't help it, I know what I like!

I think it would be a really pretty spectrum of purples @caitbird 😍 Exactly thou, we all have colors we lean towards. I wonder, if I laid out my polishes would there be a colour that I had the most of, I feel like for me it might be blues and greens.

Thanks! I think I have a type when it comes to blush, lol. I couldn't find my plum Armani Blush for this, I have no idea where that got too 😅 @makeitup305

@vallyyyyy  That’s an interesting idea! I do have a lotta makeup, though not as much as some other BIC members do. It’d be inconvenient to organize all of it by packaging color. There might be a few categories I can arrange this way though. 

I’ll start with eyeliners. I keep these arranged by shade, and their shade colors usually match their packaging. 

I’m about 75% done testing them for spoilage/performance degradation. (Empty slots = purged liners.) I also have some new eyeliners I need to add.

I also store lip liners that way, but I still need to test those to see which ones I should purge and replace with new ones. 

Other categories I might temporarily try this with: 

• Eyeshadows palettes - I don’t have as many premade (vs. customized) palettes as some others do, and now I’m curious if my palette case colors are diverse enough to make a rainbow. I don’t store my Motherships in their original boxes, but I might cheat and toss those into the mix for more colors. 😅
  
  
• Nail polish - I already have most of ‘em arranged by color. But I also have a bunch of newer arrivals I need to insert into storage, plus I’m moving lots of bottles to new storage cases. This might be a good time to take photos for this thread and my own personal inventory purposes. 
  
  
• Lipstick - I keep most bullets arranged by color, but it’s shade color, not packaging/case color. I have over 400 and most are in black or silver cases, so I won’t try rearranging ‘em all. Buuut I could maybe pick a few that have colorful cases and make a small rainbow with them. Liquid lipsticks might be easier to do: I have fewer of them but always keep ‘em arranged by brand. 
  
  
• Makeup brushes - the vast majority have black handles, but I also have several that don’t. This’ll be a fun category to rainbowize. 

Most of my blushes and highlighters come in black, pink, or silver cases. And then there’s skincare… hmm, I might be able to make a rainbow out of a skincare selection, even if I exclude sheet masks. 

I’ll come back to this thread later with a few photos, once I’ve pulled together some product arrangements. 🙂

For the heck of it, I looked up my permalinked posts from @haleyvvvv’s ✨❄️December 2022 Challenge - 12 Days of Makeup Inventory - Show Off and Catalog Your Collection!!❄️✨ thread. I’m a bit ashamed to say some of my collection’s grown (quite a bit) since then. 😅🤦‍♀️ But here’s what it mostly looked like 2 years ago—minus rainbow arrangements, though you’ll see that in the nail polish swatches post: 

• Nail polish 
• Lipstick bullets & crayons
• Liquid lipsticks & lip liners
• Eyeliners & eyeshadow palettes (minus liquid liners)
• Blush, highlighter, bronzer, face palettes, & finishing powders
• Brow products & mascaras
• Permanent travel kit residents
