Sales, Rewards pet peeves

I’ve been struggling hard with FOMO for 2 months with the $100 rougereward which I’ve never redeemed to date and seems impossible to humanly get. Really fearful that all these points that I’m sitting on (naively never imagining things would turn out the way it has today and that our rewards system and improvements was so unstable) along with my hard earned money could be going to waste. Now they are doing away with all the extra points in rouge b-day and re-qualification. Been waiting eagerly to buy seasonal discontinued Tarte products on clearance during the rouge sale only to see these discontinued items go back to full price before the sale. I’ve made so much effort to be careful with my purchases to avoid buyer regret. Despite the level of disappointment that I’ve had with all these drastic changes in policy often with little to no advance warning and certain inequities in the execution of these policies, I still tried to help Sephora be profitable as a 20 year regular customer. There is no competitor out there that can be like one stop shopping for me as Sephora. It is an awful feeling to be a prisoner of my own inability to cut down my spending and that Sephoracontrols everything. I am a quirky person and there’s aspects of me that is very disciplined and tough. I’m just waiting for that part of my personality to finally wake up and be triggered by the final breaking point such as what happened to me with my favorite hole in the wall restaurant. Case in point: Eons ago, there was a restaurant that I ate at 1-2x weekly (no exaggeration) for manyyears and gave generous tipsmore than what everyone tips usually because I can empathize how hard itis to waitress and serve a demanding public.Multiple times the entitleddaughter of the owner who always seemed to be showing off her wealth and privileges treated the customers like poop under her shoe but I never took it out on the wait staff (one has only to check out all the complaints on yelp directed at her specificallyabout her attitude). Finally after dealing silently for a long time with her behaviors, shedid something so callous and offensive that finally crossed the line forme one day that I’ve never been back though their food was my fave. It’sbeen many countless years since. Not that they cared but they lost a lot of profitable business from me. I only feel sorry that the wait staffloss income from a good customer. Just waiting for that final trigger toget me to change my spending habits at Sephora even if it means forgoing certain luxury items.

Re: Sales, Rewards pet peeves

yes...vote with your wallet.  if people/businesses don't understand customer service and how to satisfy their customers and listen to them, then their business will suffer.  a lot of other people here are complaining about sephora also.  ulta has a lot of the same brands, and better rewards, so I would shop elsewhere for those things or from the brands themselves, and only shop here for the things that you can't get anywhere else, or if they have good deals.

Re: Sales, Rewards pet peeves

ok that was too much for me to read it all, but my point is you should shop at Ulta because their rewards are WAY better than sephora and can be redeemed when YOU WANT TO, without playing stupid waiting games!
