Hi Everyone,
We wanted to take a moment to let you know that we are hearing your feedback regarding today’s Extraordinary Rewards experience. If we haven’t been able to respond to you personally yet, please know that we have read your feedback and definitely understand your frustration. The rewards sold out much quicker than we anticipated, so we were unable to send out the planned email or post to our social channels. We’re sorry if you missed out on these exciting rewards. The response has been overwhelming and we are happy to announce that there will be more extraordinary rewards coming this year.
If you have specific questions or need assistance, please PM a moderator for help. We appreciate your understanding and value the helpful feedback you’ve provided here on BeautyTalk.
Came here for the cats
I think they're dogs...that's what made it funnier to me...that they were lying in the sun like cats
LMAO I thought they were just really chunky cats like mine. But yeah, totally dogs hahaha
Well, it's the experience that keeps on giving....O_O
HAHA! @ SirensSong
Was this only for Rouge Members? Or based off the number of points you have? I am only a BI member now.
I have over 1200 its, and I never received any emails.
Nope, it was based on points. They didn't send out a formal email until it sold out or they changed the email to exclude mentioning the mega rewards.
UGH how sad.
The rewards aren't that great. Now it's going to take me even longer to use them and be done with Sephora. Although I do like coming to the boards. =D
You know what bothers me the most about these "Extraordinary Rewards"? That a good portion of them were enjoyed by:
1) People who didn't really want the perk but grabbed it just to get something
2) Resellers
WHY do you care about what other people do with their rewards? They had just as much of a right to them as you. Please, get off your high horse.
Cocoakisses - thank you for removing the photos.
How do you know it wasn't a mod?
I personally think these photos should be taken down. Those kids have nothing to do with Sephora or the perk fiasco and their likeness shouldn't be in this thread. Whether the seller has them in her profile on eBay or Instagram is up to her but I don't feel okay about them being posted here w/o her knowledge or consent, even if she violated TOS about re-selling product. This certainly doesn't seem like an apples-to-apples comparison to me.
Those aren't her kids, but rather old baby pictures of grown adults, and the wheel chair picture is just raising awareness.
Secondly, when you post pictures online they become property of the public -look it up-
Thirdly, all this information and pictures were linked to the very ebay account she is using to sell the perk. There was no lengthy FBI investigation in the matter, or "cyberstalking" which alludes to an action that would require moderate effort at the least.
Lastly, she can not do "whatever she wants" as all of you keep implying. Read the terms and conditions listed on the perk reward page. It says you are not allowed to transfer, cancel or SELL the item. If you want to get all technical, you should keep this in mind.
So while me posting public pictures of someone on a public forum is NOT a violation, what she did IS.
Derrrrrrrrrp... I don't know where you got your law degree but just because you post a picture online does NOT make it public domain. Copyright belongs to whomever created the work. It can be up for public consumption but it is not "property of" the public; it still belongs to the original artist/creator.
If you're trying to say that when you post something online you lose your expectation of privacy, then yes, I agree with that. This person clearly didn't do a very good job covering their tracks online. I could go off on a tangent about privacy but I'll spare everyone my anarchistic views. 🙂
This reseller might have violated the TOS, and if you want to report her to Sephora for doing that, that's fine. However, what can Sephora really do about this person violating their TOS? Maybe they can cancel her account and she'll lose her rewards and ability to participate in the future, but they can't really take the palette back.
Speaking of TOS, just a reminder:
Privacy. BeautyTalk is a public forum widely accessible on the Internet. Whenever participating in any online community, always remember that what you post is viewable by the general public. Please do not post any confidential or potentially embarrassing information about yourself or anyone else. Posting someone else's confidential information will result in the termination of your access to these services. [Emphasis my own.]
Personally, I don't care for rules. I break them just about every chance I get. 😄 But I can't stand hypocrites. So if you want to play by the rules, don't be selective about which rules you're playing by. That's just lame.
Not trying to rain on anyone's parade but I have some questions. Do public instagram pictures count as confidential information? Also, the OP appears to have posted a print screen vs saving the original images. Does this change anything?
All I can say is that privacy and internet do not go hand in hand which is why I rather not post full face pics even on my beloved Beauty Talk 😕
LOL, you're a little instigator!
I think if you're not a public figure, your full name and instagram constitute "confidential information" regardless of whether your account has private settings. For example, President Obama's name and address are common knowledge. Your name and address are not.
Lol totally not instigating! 😄
I think this whole matter is ridiculous. However, the most offensive thing about this entire thread is that the KVD perk is still not sitting on my vanity.
Ummm...well I hear you can buy it on eBay 🙂 jk
What's the intent behind posting her pictures though? You can easily state her eBay name and warn others about her, if you wish. Why post pictures of her kids (even if they're grown up now - that doesn't make it okay!).
I understand you're unhappy about resellers, but this might not be the best way to go about it. You can email Sephora and see if they can track this individual down, since it is in their contract to not resell their perks.
