KVD Beauty Good Apple Lightweight Full-Coverage Concealer Tan 164 - ah, I think I finally found my undereye color corrector shade of this concealer. I might post swatches of of this and other shades, plus comparisons to a few other brands’ similar shades, in one or both of the swatch request threads.

bareMinerals Mineralist Hydra-Smoothing Lipstick shade Abundance - I quickly tried this over lip balm (Aquaphor) and it was a very streaky slippery mess. 😒 Eh, a few very emollient lipsticks don’t play nice with balm and this is apparently one of ‘em, so I’ll try again later with no balm. If it still doesn’t behave or my lips dry out under it, then I’ll have to return it.

Finally remembered to try Koh Gen Do Maifanshi Sheer Moist Powder, thanks to @Ispend2much6's recent hauls post. I had some Macy’s reward money to burn, so the timing was right. Will test it sometime this week.

Grace Eleyae Black Friday orders I forgot to post (thanks for the reminder, @danielledanielle) :

I’ve been a fan of GE’s slaps for a long time, but I’d never tried one of their turbans before. Now I wonder why. I keep sleeping in the polyester ones, and the silk ones are great. I also grabbed a couple new winter hats: they’re both acrylic (I already have one of GE’s wool ones), and the black one’s a slouchy fit that holds all my hair without smooshing it flat.

Bisyodo: my first brushes from this brand. I'd looked at their brushes before but one didn't jump out at me, until the day I browsed around and saw these 2.

B-PL-02 Lip Brush - definitely the fanciest lip brush I own. 😅 I’m already in love with it.
B-3S-03 Slanted Eyeshadow Brush, Long Series - a very large brush for eyeshadow, but the slanted tip piqued my curiosity. So silky soft, I’d swear it was squirrel if it had more splay. (It’s firmer than a squirrel brush, as expected.) I’ll probably also try it as a concealer brush and/or setting powder brush.

Chikuhodo ZE-5 Eyeshadow Brush - from the new Zen series. The shape and size remind me of the medium Wayne Goss Artist brush, which I never bought and wished I had. I’m glad I held off, because this ZE-5 is ridiculously soft yet magically firm/resilient enough to hold its shape, just like Chikuhodo’s earlier silver fox series brushes.

Tanseido KQ12S Eyeshadow Brush - the only 100% kolinsky brush I own, aside from lip brushes. This brush should be able to handle any type of makeup: cream, powder, gel, loose pigment, glitter, etc. Could be a good travel multitasker. Also a new-to-me brand.

The GE navy patterned turban is gorgeous. As is the B-PL-02 Lip Brush. This inspires me to work on my Beautylish cart. It looks like it has a wooden handle, too - how exquisite💖

Thank you @eshoe ! Bisyodo's Long and Short series brushes have rosewood handles and brass ferrules. The lip brush is from the Long series. I used to want one of Chikuhodo's beautiful shaving brushes (plus a stand, of course) despite knowing I'd never use it for anything; it'd just be a piece of art on display. And okay, I do still kinda want the blue & black brush. 😂 But the Bisyodo lip brush is so beautiful in its own way, it fills that gap for me. Plus, I'll actually use this brush.

I wish Beautylish would/could carry a wider Chikuhodo range, now that Visage USA seems to be defunct. I've ordered from Fude Beauty before and have yet to have a problem with them. But it'd be nice to use Beautylish gift cards (earned during the gift card event) on more brushes. 🙂 Anyway, I look forward to seeing which brushes you decide to add to your collection!

@WinglessOne I completely understand about wanting that razor set simply for display purposes. I bet it is gorgeous.

So I am looking at that Bisyodo lip brush (as well as some other brushes). I have never visited this site before, I have been missing out! Reading up on the kalinsky hairs is quite interesting. Very niche/specific, at least from I saw.

The components play a big part in the cost. Each brush head is made from kolinsky sable, a Siberian weasel that's hair is said to cost three times the price of gold by weight. These weasels are hunted sustainably every spring under CITES guidelines across Siberia and Manchuria. Only guard hairs from the tail will do.

@eshoe Kolinsky's often used (and highly prized) for artist and calligraphy brushes. For cosmetic brushes, it's a do-it-all hair type. Many lip brushes (that aren't synthetic) are made of kolinsky. So are lots of nail art brushes. Kolinsky's even used for some medical field brushes. Some folks confuse kolinsky with sable, but they're 2 different animals.

Fude Beauty's a good retailer. They're great at emailing updates on order progress, including notices of US customs release. (They're not US-based.) Sign up for their mailing list and you'll probably get a discount code that's either 10 or 15%. 🙂

@WinglessOne thank you for the cross-reference. I used to paint with oils, but never paid attention to things that mattered. Only if I liked the brush or not, based on how it felt. Guessing I may have painted with a few!

I also appreciate the info on Fude Beauty. It is a little scary when ordering from international companies as some do not always provide customs details like you mentioned. I like to track, especially when it is a new-to-me company, so this is very helpful.
