Aldi's wine and cheese advent calendars released today so I skipped out on life to chase my holiday wine dreams. We got there 5 minutes after opening and got the last wine calendar! The girl in front of us was trying to buy all that were left and thankfully cashier man to the rescue said absolutely not, one per person. The put out the cheese ones earlier this week so I picked that one up Monday, but wouldn't sell the wine one early.

The contents:

I would have liked to see a little more variety, especially in the cheese one. Only 5 kinds of cheeses?? I do appreciate the variety in the origin of the wines versus it being all from one region and looking forward to trying more wines from areas I don't have often. I don't think we'll drink our wine nightly, so it'll be fun to pair when we get a chance and get creative.

I am SOOOO JEALOUS of this! I wish I had an Aldi near by! I live in Vancouver, and can hop over the border quite easily to the states. I heard Target is having a cheese advent calendar also. I checked about 5 Targets over the weekend, and they didn't have them out yet.

For the super splurgers, the Liberty calendar looks gorgeous this year and ships to US. £195, supposedly over £600 value. Last time I checked, Selfridges also still had the Diptyque available.
