Help!! On a foundation choice

I need one that’s not cakey. But covers my fine lines wrinkles and large af pores. My skin is somewhat dry and I end up with scaly patches or flakes on my skin. I want my skin to look flawless, like a porcelain doll. Please help. Also do I need to use powder afterwards?? Thank you!$

RE: Help!! On a foundation choice

It cosmetics CC cream! Has anti aging properties, hydration and more!

RE: Help!! On a foundation choice

The hourglass Stick and their veil primer. It’s pricey but worth it.

RE: Help!! On a foundation choice

The reason your foundation is getting separated/flakey is because your skin is lacking moisture. Great foundation application starts with a great skincare regime. Observe your skin and see what you’re lacking. NARS has a good hydrating foundation along with Too Faced. For skincare try to see if you can add some great moisturizing products into your regime.

RE: Help!! On a foundation choice

The person who replied about your skincare is totally 100% correct! Your makeup will not be nearly as flawless on your skin without properly testing the skin first and foremost. NARS has beautiful foundations such as the Velvet Matte stick (totally underrated but easy to work with and buildable too with a very natural “thin” formula that won’t appear Camry but still give you coverage. Same with the Natural Radiant liquid foundation by NARS. The Hourglass Vanish stick foundations are fabulous as well! All of these suggestions are pricey but worth it. Skincare first though. Don’t spend a fortune on skincare, there’s good items at the drugstore and by The Ordinary (online website) that won’t break your bank. These are items you will repurchase and use on the daily as a routine so you want them to be affordable whereas makeup lasts longer and tend to switch up your makeup items from day to day. Good luck! 🙂

RE: Help!! On a foundation choice

Hi! I kno its too overwhelming to hear all different ans from everyone one. Because each skin is different n there are 1000 of product out there. Sry to break to you but foundation do hav chemicals in it which usually drys out skin. My skin is super dry n nothing works for me as well but since started mixing oil with my foundation it works as wonder. I mix the 32k rosegold with my foundation. Hopefully that will work foR u.

RE: Help!! On a foundation choice

Because of your dry patches, I would suggest potentially a moisturizing primer to start. I really like becca’s purple bottle primer (first light priming) and I use Lancôme teint idole ultra wear foundation it’s not drying and it’s not greasy! I love it., It lasts all day and it gives you a satin finish. I think you’ll like it! And no I do not use powder on top. I do use the born this way concellor on top in highlight areas & finshish it all off with a natural bronzer all over (I used too faced matte chocolate soleil)

RE: Help!! On a foundation choice

one tip is make sure to not choose a matt foundation, it will definitely dry out the skin more. and only powder the t zone, that is if it is even a bit oily.

RE: Help!! On a foundation choice

Hudas new foundation is great for not settling. I’d recommend getting it when it’s back in stock.

RE: Help!! On a foundation choice

Huda foundation is horrible for dry skin and waaaay too cakey. It’s trendy but not realistic if you want something more hydrating. Too Faced Born This Way, Hourglass Vanish stick, NARS, iT Cosmetics CC+ Cream (reg formula), Smashbox would be my suggestions from a ultra dry-skinned girl who also needs light to medium and buildable coverage

RE: Help!! On a foundation choice

First, make sure you are exfoliated so their isn’t cakey skin... Peter Thomas Roth Firmx Peel is an enzyme with no harsh physical exfoliates to harm the skin and instantly gets rid of all dead skin that foundation can catch on. I use it on All my clients especially, 4k TV! Then, Bye Bye redness by IT Cosmetics is amazing in tiny amounts on a small brush to fill in pores with instead of primer as it’s skin are and if you cleanse good at night you’ll be just fine. Then, MUFE HD foundation and I like Laura Merc. Loose setting powder only on oily places. Hope that was cohesive. As a Master Esthetician and Pro MUA I get detailed and take care on the face (canvas) first.

RE: Help!! On a foundation choice

Too Faced born this way is great for coverage

RE: Help!! On a foundation choice

Armani luminous silk foundation and Charlotte Tillbury magic foundation are both amazing, I have severe dry skin and the foundations go on so smoothly and dry patches are not noticeable.

Born this way! Amazing stuff! Or Nars Luminous. Both medium to full coverage. For fine lines I recommend setting with LM setting powder and some UD setting spray! Should hold a good 10hrs!

RE: Help!! On a foundation choice

Go for the Cover FX Custom Drops It's not very well known and exclusive to sephora but I promise it's great. It doesn't look Cakey which is none of my favorite things about it along with the fact that it's build-able. It comes in a drop applicator so with a single drop you can have light coverage on a summer day but add a few more drops to make it a full coverage foundation along with anywhere in the middle. I like my foundation medium coverage so I love how the coverage is build-able. I normally start with medium cover and if I have a pimple that day I add another small touch only where the pimple is, so my face is medium coverage with full coverage on just the pimple but when you look at your whole face in the mirror, you can't tell there's more foundation on just one part of your face. It looks flawless & isn't too expensive. Just make sure you shake your bottle before application. There's also a number of shade so good luck and let me know how you feel about it if it try it out! It's my personal favorite.

RE: Help!! On a foundation choice

You sld use the top faced cocount primer it’s really good it’s has coconuts n it which it’s really good for dry skin n it helps with the cakey looking face. I use to have that same promblem with that primer you can use any foundation n In the nose area I put that ( around my t zone in my face ) then I use the peaches primer from too faced also for the rest of my face for Matte and flawless those primera are the best

dod not know they have a coconut primer. I bought the marc jacobs once and it works great! I haven't seen the too faced one on sephoras website, did you buy it from sephora?

RE: Help!! On a foundation choice

I love Dior Forever and Laura Mercier Flawless Foundation- this one is matte though. Try getting s sample and see if you like them. I’m older so I need to be careful about my choices. 😊

RE: Help!! On a foundation choice

It cosmetics 👌🏻💯

RE: Help!! On a foundation choice

You could try the First Aid Beauty Smoothie Priming Moisturizer before your foundation. I have dry skin & this has changed my life. Oh & if you’re not already exfoliating start now! I have to exfoliate at least 2x a week.
