Gift cArd issue

Hi I purchased a sephora gift card on Amazon a while back as a gift for a friend. When she went to use it, it said balance was 0 $, I've been fighting back and forth with Amazon for months trying to get this figured out, they have advised me to reach out to sephora directly, they having said there has been a number of issue with sephora imparticular when it comes to gift cards having issues. Also my friend was told by sephora by the store cashier, that there was a number of customers whose gift cards were not working properly that day either and to contact customer service. 

 The gift card that is having issues is for 50$ CDN. 

I would appreciate any help from someone as to what I need to do to get this resolved.
