TRUTH ABOUT THE GHOST OIL?

I have heat damaged hair. It's dry and frizzy. I want to try the ghost oil but im scared its gonna make my hair look and feel greasy. Someone please tell me the truth about the ghost oil! Is it going to grease up my hair and take away its volume? Is it worth the money?

Re: TRUTH ABOUT THE GHOST OIL?

i didn't love it. it made me hair sort of greasy, but also i didn't feel like it did much? i love the ouai hair oil (both the rose and original) and the moroccan oil hair treatment! i can put them in damp hair, and let me hair air dry, and it's not greasy but so soft.

Re: TRUTH ABOUT THE GHOST OIL?

Personally, it didn't do wonderful things for my hair but I also might not be using the right amount. It seemed like I'd either use too little and my hair would still frizz or too much and it would be oily looking. And even when I used it, it didn't seem to protect my hair from heat damage. I do have to say though, if you ever use too much, you could totally use dry shampoo and a little texturizing spray to put back some life in your hair!

Re: TRUTH ABOUT THE GHOST OIL?

If you're worried about it looking greasy, apply it to your towel dried hair, and then blow dry. The heat will help to evenly diffuse the oils in a way that looks natural

Re: TRUTH ABOUT THE GHOST OIL?

@samantharuth I have pretty thick hair, but I use 2 full pumps every wash day and I don't think it makes my hair too greasy or weighed down.

As @greeneyedgirl107 said, there are a lot of silicones in it, so it probably depends on how much your hair likes silicones or not.

Its only $14, which I think is a reasonable price for the amount of product you get.

Maybe you could ask for a sample?

Okay i will thank you!

Re: TRUTH ABOUT THE GHOST OIL?

@samantharuth I haven't tried it, but when I look at the ingredients it looks like it has a lot of silicones in it so I am assuming it isn't too different from many other hair oils out there.  If you apply it with a light touch, you should be OK.

My favorite hair oil is Matrix Oil Wonders.  But I also like Alterna Kendi Oil (I have it in the liquid form and the dry spray - you may like that if you want something really light).  I also own Josie Maran Argan Oil and I think that would also be light enough for your hair...she has light versions, and hair versions.  I've also heard good things about Bumble & Bumble's Invisible Oil.

Remember that with a lot of hair oils, you can use them as a hair mask, in with your conditioner, as a styling product, or on dry hair (my favorite way).  Good luck!

Re: TRUTH ABOUT THE GHOST OIL?

I started using the ghost oil after I had a sample (that I used up) from my PLAY box. I have coarse, frizzy hair and evenly disperse two pumps on damp hair before blow drying and heat styling. It makes my hair feel soft and hydrated.
