long lasting fragrance

i’ve been into perfumes for a little over a year and the ones i use never seem to stay for over 2-3 hours. does anyone know any long lasting perfumes/ tips on how to make them last longer?

Re: long lasting fragrance

Perfume and durability has a lot to do with your skin PH. With that being said, you can always use a unscented moisturizer before applying your perfume, it will hydrate your skin and make the perfume last longer.

Also, there are perfumes, that even though they are from renowned brands, they do not last long. One example is neroli portofino form tom ford.

I personally find spraying the inside of my elbows better than spraying wrists just because your hands move a lot and are more likely to pick up other scents from soap, hand sanitizer etc. I also prefer spraying my chest to my neck.

Re: long lasting fragrance

@faithhause What sorts are you using? It could be a variety of reasons. Maybe you need better perfumes, maybe you are becoming "nose blind" (olfactory senses rule out long standing scents) to heavier perfumes. Maybe your body temp or activity levels are evaporating them quickly. Are you applying only to wrists and handwashing a lot? You could try oil based or solid cream perfumes. Maybe hair mists would last longer. Hair mists shouldn't damage hair like regular perfume could. Versace Turquoise is an edt that lasts all day for me. I was surprised to find it was edt not edp.

Re: long lasting fragrance

Every perfume has a different amount of longevity. If you like the base notes of whatever you’re using, it might be worth looking into if there are other similar perfumes or formulations you can layer.

Personally I like using a complimentary body wash, lotion and perfume.

Similar to another commenter, applying to the wrists is what I would recommend. As well as the neck.

Re: long lasting fragrance

@faithhause to make it last longer I layer it on top of my body cream and put it on my wrists. You can also spray a little in your hair.
