Perfume Strength Types

I never had a high end perfume before and I want that to change. I was searching for some on Sephora and I saw that each of them had different descriptions such as, Eau Fraiche, Eau de Cologne, Eau de Toilette, and Eau de Perfume. I've never thought about it in the past. But, now, since I have a desire to have a high end perfume on my dresser, I finally Googled what it all meant.

I am a huge visual learner. If I can see it, I can understand it. I wanted to share it with everyone.

Since I am totally new to fragrances, I am open to any and all fragrance advice.

@Anonymous Thanks for sharing this helpful pic 🙂

If you're curious, we have a thread in the group for recommending perfumes ➡️ https://community.sephora.com/t5/Fragrance-Fans/BIC-Fragrance-Finder/td-p/4725044

If you'd like to get more into perfumes, I would first recommend getting to know the main genres like cologne, fougere, chypre, woody, leathers, incenses, orientals, and so on. I would also highly recommend studying the history of perfume and try smelling as many of the classics as possible. So many niche fragrances are actually modelled on older classics that are cheaper. On one hand, one can forgo any of the educatio nand always go based on whatever smells good to you, and that is always going to be a factor, but the more you learn, the more you might learn to appreciate or even enjoy that which you do not like. Also, the more you know, the easier it will be for you to describe scents, understand scent descriptions, and be able to hone in on what you're looking for.

Otherwise, feel free to come back here and ask any questions, we're always happy to help 🙂
