Cologne Recommendation Needed!

Though Valentine's Day is a ways away, I'm looking to gift my boyfriend (soon to be fiancé) with a new bottle of cologne. He's a Libra, so he's sophisticated yet masculine, as well as quick witted, smart and charming. I'm considering the following colognes, but would love your thoughts!

My personal thoughts are that Ashoka might be too rich for your partner. Also, the list mentions Dzongkha by L'Artisan Parfumeur for Libra women, but I think the scent is very unisex and would smell great on a man. It's a very unique "niche" smelling incense

• Terre d'Hermes, a well balanced citrus scent
• Penhaligon's Sartorial, a modern fougere though depending on his age, if he's younger, this may read more eccentric than charming
• Frederic Malle's Angeliques Sous La Pluie, a more expensive gin and tonic fragrance that suggests to me a nimble and sharp mind

I love the new Tom Ford Soleil Neige, I had bought it for myself then thought it more on the masculine side... my next boyfriend will have this handed to him lol!

@carlym99  Of the three you posted, La Nuit is the better of the three BUT with one caveat: it was recently reformulated and smells nothing like it used to. Versace Pour Homme is good but definitely not great, and Extreme Blue by Michael Kors is pretty bad.

Take him to Nordstrom or Neiman Marcus/Bergdorf Goodman/Horchow and sample fragrances together. Remember if you get him a fragrance, you are going to have to like it as well.

How much money do you want to spend on him? If you can afford to spend a few hundred ($200+) check out: 

Creed: Aventus, Royal Oud, Green Irish Tweed. 

Guerlain: Chamade Pour Homme, Derby. 

Tom Ford: Oud Wood Intense.

Frederick Malle: Musc Ravageur,  Portrait of a Lady (don't let the name fool you). 

Maison Francis Kurkdjian: Baccarat Rouge 540 or the even better Baccarat Rouge 540 Extrait de Parfum, Oud Satin Mood.

Chanel: Coromandel.
