Are you looking for a new fragrance to try and fall in love with? This thread is for people looking for a signature scent or a new addition to their scent wardrobe.
It would help if you have an idea of what you're looking for. If you're not sure how to narrow things down, try asking yourself about
@mintkandi Fragrantica users find this one similar to Michael Kors' Island Palm Beach and Elizabeth Arden's Green Tea Mimosa.
@mintkandi You're most welcome! I'm not familiar with the scent but if there are notes that you like, I can make other recommendations 🙂
I would appreciate any recommendatioins!
@mintkandi Sure thing! Are there any notes you like? Could be as vague as sweet or woody or as specific as tuberose and cinnamon! A vibe you're going for like, light and fresh for the day, or sultry and romantic for the evening, clean and polished for the office? etc.
Notes: Honey, almond, jasmine are notes I love
Type: Sweet, floral
Place: Would love a perfume that reminds me of Main Street in Magic Kingdom
Budget: Nothing over 130 dollars
i really love "love, chloe" by chloe (not to be mistaken with love story by chloe). i got my first bottle as a declutter from a family member years ago. it isn't produced anymore but i found a bottle on amazon. now i have a single rollerball left. it has a soft, floral (?) smell that melts on my skin. the base note is supposedly rice and it smells so good on me.
i just can't find anything comparable.
@teacherbaker - According to Fragrantica, it is a floral woody musk and these are the notes:
Top notes - Pink Pepper and African Orange flower
Middle notes - Iris, Lilac, Hyacinth, Heliotrope and Wisteria
Base notes- Powdery Notes, Rice and Musk
I don't know if this an exact match, but I recommend Charlotte Tilbury's scent of a dream. It has energizing top notes, an addictively powdery floral heart notes, and lasting base notes of musk. The middle notes have tuberose (powdery), jasmine, violet and frankincense, instead of blend of flowers listed above. Hope this helps!
I’d love to find some help with finding a signature, soft, but long-lasting scent. I’ve loved DOLCE&GABBANA Light Blue Travel Duo and looove the Sun version DOLCE&GABBANA Light Blue Gift Set I also like fresh scents like Versace Bright Crystal. I really love the smell of peony too. Any recommendations would be super appreciated!
@Erendira1 Some people find Moschino Cheap and Chic's I Love Love to be longer lasting than Light Blue and it's similar. Both scents are by Oliver Cresp. You might also like Kenzo's L'Eau par Kenzo which he also did. It's an aquatic floral and some people get real lasting power out of it. Finally, if you like his style, try Penhaligon's Peoneve which is his peony scent for the house. You might like some of the other Penhaligons as they are generally a light and fresh house.
Other peony perfumes that are light
I have difficulty picking a perfume because any time perfume smells really sweet it starts to make me nauseous while I am wearing it...
in the past, I liked Chanel Cristalle Eau Verte and Bvlgari Parfumee au Tea Rouge... these clean crisp scents. Looking for something new along the same lines...any recommendations?
Thanks in advance 🙂
I'd definitely check out the other Bvlgari tea scents. Other crisp ones you might like
Now, if you want really cutting scents, scents with a hard edge, you might want to get into vintage greens, esp from the 70s, or contemporary scents based on those older ones, and aldehydic perfumes. They may smell a little older-fashioned, it depends on your style. They are sophisticated and beautiful but more dressed up than most contemporary scents
Hi, I would like to find a product that smells like milk, if there is any. Fruity, woody, or floural smell are all okay, just don't be too sweet. I want the smell to be pure and natural, and can be worn with a casual look without any makeup
@CCarriee I can't think of perfumes that smell like straight up milk that aren't very sweet, but there are definitely quite a few milky perfumes, especially when there's sandalwood or tuberose notes. You might also look for perfumes with a good dose of heliotrope or search for "lactone" notes.
@pocketvenus Can you recommend fruity perfumes sold at Sephora? I don't want a woody smell at all. I want something very bright, happy and girly smelling.
@rosegoldlovely There are some fruity floral suggestions in a post below to TyDay, you can scroll down for product links if they don't show up here. These ones are all fresh in style. I'll post some heavier suggestions later unless you only wanted fresh wears 🙂
Hi! I would love help finding a cozy, warm fragrance with a hint of spice.
I love fragrances like By The Fireplace, Whispers in the Library, and Tom Ford Ombre Leather.
I'm particularly curious about Maison Margiela REPLICA' Jazz Club Eau de Toilette 3.4 oz / 100 ml eau de toilette spray but it says it's a Male fragrance with some reviews saying it smells like cheap cologne. Have any females used this fragrance for themselves and loved it?
100% open to other suggestions, ultimately I'd like to purchase a trial size to use on myself before buying the full size and I'm hoping to keep the travel size price below $50cad, or below $180cad for the full size. Thanks for any suggestions!
Hi,
Although I personally never used it (it does have a little masculine feel to it) I used to work as a Fragrance Advisor at Sephora and I had plenty of female clients who loved and wore Jazz Club. It definitely does not have a cheap cologne scent, it does smell a little bit boozy though (after all it supposed to smell like a Jazz club). If you like By the Fireplace you might like it although it is sweeter and less smokey.
I love this scent on me. I am female btw. I have never minded male scents tho. My husband is not a perfume guy...So I wear it out or to work...I deal in a casino in Las Vegas... who can tell with a mask ... I can 😊
