Re: BIC Fragrance Finder

@mintkandi Fragrantica users find this one similar to Michael Kors' Island Palm Beach and Elizabeth Arden's Green Tea Mimosa.

Re: BIC Fragrance Finder

Thank you so much @pocketvenus !

Re: BIC Fragrance Finder

@mintkandi You're most welcome! I'm not familiar with the scent but if there are notes that you like, I can make other recommendations 🙂

Re: BIC Fragrance Finder

I would appreciate any recommendatioins!

Re: BIC Fragrance Finder

@mintkandi Sure thing! Are there any notes you like? Could be as vague as sweet or woody or as specific as tuberose and cinnamon! A vibe you're going for like, light and fresh for the day, or sultry and romantic for the evening, clean and polished for the office? etc.

Re: BIC Fragrance Finder

Notes: Honey, almond, jasmine are notes I love

Type: Sweet, floral

Place: Would love a perfume that reminds me of Main Street in Magic Kingdom

Budget: Nothing over 130 dollars

Re: BIC Fragrance Finder

@JuliaVello

  • Yves Rocher Tendre Jasmin is a good budget jasmine. Pacifica also makes a budget jasmine too.
  • You might enjoy the Tocca line, something like TOCCA Gia 1.7oz/50mL Eau de Parfum Spray . There's a discovery set TOCCA Mini Discovery Collection Set

Re: BIC Fragrance Finder

i really love "love, chloe" by chloe (not to be mistaken with love story by chloe). i got my first bottle as a declutter from a family member years ago. it isn't produced anymore but i found a bottle on amazon. now i have a single rollerball left. it has a soft, floral (?) smell that melts on my skin. the base note is supposedly rice and it smells so good on me.

i just can't find anything comparable.

Re: BIC Fragrance Finder

@teacherbaker - According to Fragrantica, it is a floral woody musk and these are the notes:

Top notes - Pink Pepper and African Orange flower

Middle notes - Iris, Lilac, Hyacinth, Heliotrope and Wisteria

Base notes- Powdery Notes, Rice and Musk

Re: BIC Fragrance Finder

I don't know if this an exact match, but I recommend Charlotte Tilbury's scent of a dream. It has energizing top notes, an addictively powdery floral heart notes, and lasting base notes of musk. The middle notes have tuberose (powdery), jasmine, violet and frankincense, instead of blend of flowers listed above.   Hope this helps!

Re: BIC Fragrance Finder

I’d love to find some help with finding a signature, soft, but long-lasting scent. I’ve loved DOLCE&GABBANA Light Blue Travel Duo and looove the Sun version DOLCE&GABBANA Light Blue Gift Set  I also like fresh scents like Versace Bright Crystal. I really love the smell of peony too. Any recommendations would be super appreciated!

Re: BIC Fragrance Finder

@Erendira1 Some people find Moschino Cheap and Chic's I Love Love to be longer lasting than Light Blue and it's similar. Both scents are by Oliver Cresp. You might also like Kenzo's L'Eau par Kenzo which he also did. It's an aquatic floral and some people get real lasting power out of it. Finally, if you like his style, try Penhaligon's Peoneve which is his peony scent for the house. You might like some of the other Penhaligons as they are generally a light and fresh house.

Other peony perfumes that are light

  • Jo Malone London Peony and Blush Suede Cologne 3.4 oz/ 100 mL Spray
  • Miss Dior Cherie Blooming Bouquet
  • H&M Peony, not sure if they're still making these but the rollerballs are super affordable and not bad
  • A lot of people on BIC liked Elizabeth & James' Nirvana White. You can't get it on Sephora anymore and it's not so much a fresh scent but if you like the peony note, you can still find it online.

Re: BIC Fragrance Finder

I have difficulty picking a perfume because any time perfume smells really sweet it starts to make me nauseous while I am wearing it...
in the past, I liked Chanel Cristalle Eau Verte and Bvlgari Parfumee au Tea Rouge... these clean crisp scents. Looking for something new along the same lines...any recommendations?

Thanks in advance 🙂

Re: BIC Fragrance Finder

@annushka79

I'd definitely check out the other Bvlgari tea scents. Other crisp ones you might like

  • Gucci Bloom Acqua di Fiori Eau de Toilette For Her 1.6 oz/ 50 mL Eau de Toilette Spray  - this is a green version of Bloom, but not like a harsh green
  • Jo Malone London Wood Sage and Sea Salt Cologne 3.4 oz/ 100 mL Spray - kind of a classic. It's not as crisp as some colognes but it's fresh and clean. You might want to explore this house as it's quite light wearing
  • Calvin Klein ck one 1.7 oz/ 50 mL Eau de Toilette Spray - 90s minimalism.
  • Frederic Malle Angeliques Sous La Pluie - a gentler version of Bois d'Orage, this one is sparkling and fresh, like a gin and tonic
  • Definitely explore Penhaligon's, especially scents like Juniper Sling, Blenheim Bouquet or Lothair, which is a tea-based one.

Now, if you want really cutting scents, scents with a hard edge, you might want to get into vintage greens, esp from the 70s, or contemporary scents based on those older ones, and aldehydic perfumes. They may smell a little older-fashioned, it depends on your style. They are sophisticated and beautiful but more dressed up than most contemporary scents

  • Chanel no.5 - CLASSIC. Cut glass aldehydes
  • Chanel no.19 - green aldehydes
  • Frederic Malle Superstitious - The aldehydes are softer here than Chanel but they still have some fizz. Red carpet glam vibes for sure.
  • TOM FORD Vert de Fleur 1.7 oz/ 50 mL Eau de Parfum Spray - Homage to Balmain's classic Vent Vert
  • Dusita Sillage Blanc - there's pocketknife hidden in this clutch purse! Based on the legendary Bandit by Piguet but imminently more wearable

Re: BIC Fragrance Finder

Hi, I would like to find a product that smells like milk, if there is any. Fruity, woody, or floural smell are all okay, just don't be too sweet. I want the smell to be pure and natural, and can be worn with a casual look without any makeup

Re: BIC Fragrance Finder

@CCarriee I can't think of perfumes that smell like straight up milk that aren't very sweet, but there are definitely quite a few milky perfumes, especially when there's sandalwood or tuberose notes. You might also look for perfumes with a good dose of heliotrope or search for "lactone" notes.

  • Serge Lutens Dent de lait 1.6 oz/ 50 mL Eau de Parfum # - a bit of an odd one, definitely test before buying. The closest on this list to actual mil
  • TOM FORD Soleil Blanc Set - I can't get the solo perfume to tag. This features tuberose and coconut and it has a beachy vibe. For a cheaper take, try Juliette Has a Gun Sunny Side Up 1.7 oz/ 50 mL Eau de Parfum Spray
  • Kilian Sacred Wood - this is a sandalwood one, though it leans sweet
  • Diptyque Tam Dao - woody sandalwood, an easy wear. It's not sweet but also not as milky as more expensive sandalwoods
  • Hermes Santal Massoia - another sandalwood, quite pricey but not too sweet and milky. Sophisticated, think minimalist looks.
  • Le Labo Santal 33 - really popular, starts out leathery and turns into a horrid laundry musk bomb on my skin but some people totally adore it. This can definitely be a casual wear.
  • Hiram Green Moon Bloom - dreadfully expensive all natural scent. A sheer, milky tuberose. Often you'll find with tuberose a milk + coconut combo.
  • Frederic Malle Carnal Flower - even more dreadfully expensive but a classic benchmark tuberose that's drop dead gorgeous but maybe not as casual as you're looking for. Depends on how dramatic your casual is 🙂

Re: BIC Fragrance Finder

@pocketvenus Can you recommend fruity perfumes sold at Sephora? I don't want a woody smell at all. I want something very bright, happy and girly smelling.

Re: BIC Fragrance Finder

@rosegoldlovely There are some fruity floral suggestions in a post below to TyDay, you can scroll down for product links if they don't show up here. These ones are all fresh in style. I'll post some heavier suggestions later unless you only wanted fresh wears 🙂

Re: BIC Fragrance Finder

Hi! I would love help finding a cozy, warm fragrance with a hint of spice.

I love fragrances like By The Fireplace, Whispers in the Library, and Tom Ford Ombre Leather.

I'm particularly curious about Maison Margiela REPLICA' Jazz Club Eau de Toilette 3.4 oz / 100 ml eau de toilette spray but it says it's a Male fragrance with some reviews saying it smells like cheap cologne. Have any females used this fragrance for themselves and loved it?

100% open to other suggestions, ultimately I'd like to purchase a trial size to use on myself before buying the full size and I'm hoping to keep the travel size price below $50cad, or below $180cad for the full size. Thanks for any suggestions!

Re: BIC Fragrance Finder

Hi,

Although I personally never used it (it does have a little masculine feel to it) I used to work as a Fragrance Advisor at Sephora and I had plenty of female clients who loved and wore Jazz Club. It definitely does not have a cheap cologne scent, it does smell a little bit boozy though (after all it supposed to smell like a Jazz club). If you like By the Fireplace you might like it although it is sweeter and less smokey.

Re: BIC Fragrance Finder

I love this scent on me. I am female btw. I have never minded male scents tho. My husband is not a perfume guy...So I wear it out or to work...I deal in a casino in Las Vegas... who can tell with a mask ... I can 😊
