Waterproof mascara

Honest question because I've never had an actual waterproof mascara...what's the best way to take this off? I have micellar water but not the kind that removes the waterproof mascara🙄 help 😞

Re: Waterproof mascara

@Anonymous Coconut oils are a little heavy and can clog your pores (if you're prone to this). I always use an oil-emulsion cleanser like KOSE Softy Mo Facial Cleansing Oil Speedy. Because it's oil based, it takes off waterproof makeup like olive oil/coconut oil would. But when you wash it off with water you don't get that oily residue feeling! Pair with a second facial wash for double cleansing :).

RE: Waterproof mascara

I've been using waterproof mascaras for more than 15 years and L'oreal bi-phase eye make-up remover for at least 10 years now. It doesn't hurt my eyes and removes well except for their new waterproof Lash Paradise mascara 🙂 you can always use some olive oil etc. but it would be harder to clean your lashes afterwards.

RE: Waterproof mascara

I usually use Farmacy Cleansing Balm when I use waterproof mascara and it works like a charm. It's super gentle to your skin and eye too.

RE: Waterproof mascara

I love the Neutrogena makeup remover wipes. Removes water proof mascara and does not irritate my eyes.

Re: Waterproof mascara

Cold cream!

RE: Waterproof mascara

Dedicated eye makeup remover or an oil cleanser/balm (or plain oils like olive/coconut/etc. or petroleum-based products like aquaphor or Vaseline, though I'm not sure the latter are safe for use around your eyes). I'm not convinced micellar waters that claim to remove waterproof mascaras really do so (fully and gently, anyhow) . . . at least without adding ingredients you may not want otherwise left on your face.

RE: Waterproof mascara

I tried the coconut oil and washed my face afterwards which seemed to do the trick. I'm trying to love myself and take my makeup off before bed😂 thank you so much for responding❣️❣️

RE: Waterproof mascara

Hah, you inadvertently double-cleansed!
