WHEN to apply false lashes

Hi lovelies! 

I am still practising with falsies for an upcoming wedding, but I'm getting contradicting advice about WHEN to apply them in my eye makeup routine.

One advice is to apply them AFTER the full eye makeup application.  Another is to apply to clean lids....which contradicts them being the last step in eye makeup application.  So WHEN exactly are we to apply falsies?  And is it a hard and fast rule to apply them at the beginning or at the end?  And will that affect adhesion of the falsies?

Better to do it after makeup. If you glue them before make-up, there will be shadows and sparkles on them, it looks messy.

@deetkc I like to apply them at the end but I know others like to apply them right after eye makeup. There really isn’t a right or wrong way. Just personal preference

I apply them after the whole face is done so I dont get setting powder on them, same for when I have my clients. Theres no set rule, only to let them sit for a minute to two minutes so the glue gets tacky.

@deetkc Anytime I've worn false lashes, I've always put them on after eyeshadow and liner. Then I'll add mascara after the lashes are on. I've never had an issue with this order. Have you practiced doing it both ways and found any difference? I would think the glue would stick regardless. 🤷

@ Asche:  Great, thanks!  I did try both ways but haven't succeeded in getting them to stick properly either way. I'm still at the stage where I get glue on my eyelids, and then the falsies unstick at the ends. LOL  I will get there.  But ok, good to know, thanks!
