Top eyeshadow brands??

Could you rank your top 3 go to brands for palettes and shadows in order please?

Re: Top eyeshadow brands??

@flowerpower95 There are so many lovely eye brands that they are hard to rank.  These are my top brands

Pat McGrath - Her Celestial Divinity is the one I use most and I have most of her Motherships and enjoy using them as well

Natasha Denona - Her glam palette is my favorite

Visage - I like many of the their single shade matte colors and the Violette Etendu

I know you said three but finally Anastasia - Soft Glam II

Re: Top eyeshadow brands??

Mine has to be:

Natasha Denona

Urban Decay

Anastasia Beverly Hills

The ND Glam pallet is a MUST. Those shimmers are to DIE for.

The UD Naked Cherry is such a pretty pink pallet.

The ABH Modern Rennesciance pallet has absolute GORGEOUS golds.

Re: Top eyeshadow brands??

Echoing everyone’s sentiments regarding Natasha Denona. I’ve yet to find a better performing eye shadow.

Second, I really enjoy Charlotte Tilbury’s aesthetic but I understand it’s not for everyone as her shades tend to pull warm and even orange on some which can be an issue for certain skin tones. Many people find her line to be very one note and not having much variety, but it does work for me so I have a good number of her products. Warm eye looks flatter me well.

And finally, I think I’d say it’s a tie between the older offerings from Too Faced and Urban Decay. Both of those brands have had a few major misses, but a couple of their OG palettes have been my absolute favorites, and some others have been great too.

Re: Top eyeshadow brands??

@flowerpower95   I'll list my favorites for powder shadows and then cream/liquid, in case you wanted to experiment with those.

I think I will always have a soft spot for Sydney Grace shadows.  They occasionally has palettes for sale (and she has some now that are gorgeous!) but mostly single shadows so you can make your own palette.  The shadows are talc-free, and very creamy.  The mattes are also very smooth.  Best of all, their products are very reasonably priced.  Her highlighters are also very pretty.

My next favorite palette would be Viseart Eyeshadow Palette 06 Paris Nude.  These shadows apply very well and last well, for me anyway.  This is a nice palette to use on its own or to mix with others.

My other favorite powder shadow brand still sells in the US, but must be ordered from the UK- Rouge Bunny Rouge.

For cream shadows, my favorite is #Charlotte Tilbury Eyes To Mesmerize cream shadows.  The way the shadows change their appearance in varying light makes it look like you're wearing more than one shade at a time, which I think is fun.

Sydney Grace makes cream eye shadows in a tube that are so pretty, long-lasting, and reasonably priced.

Danessa Myricks Beauty Colorfix Eye, Cheek & Lip Cream Pigment Venus(this is a link to one shade, there are many,) applies smoothly, lasts, and is also reasonably priced.

Re: Top eyeshadow brands??

@flowerpower95  In no particular order because I can't fairly rank them:

Viseart makes the best (in my opinion) mattes, particularly in their 12-pan palettes and their mini 6-pan Theory palettes. I also love several shades of their other formulas, but their mattes are the most buttery soft and easily blendable.

Pat McGrath makes my favorite duo/multi chromes (for now; I still haven't tried any Clionadh duo/multi chromes) and I love her blitz and metallic formulas. Some folks have trouble with a few of her mattes, but I usually have good luck with them.

Natasha Denona has a fantastic cream matte powder formula, and her metallics are usually great. I also like her duochromes, though not as much as Pat's.

All 3 of these brands sell single shadows, though not in every formula they make. They also sell mini palettes which are a good way to try each brand. And they have at least one big sale each year (PMG and Viseart have several good sales throughout the year). To save a big chunk of money on Natasha Denona, her annual fall BOGO sale is worth waiting for—as long as her site doesn't crash.

I have several palettes and singles by all 3 of these brands. I like a few other brands' eyeshadows, but these 3 are by far my faves.

Re: Top eyeshadow brands??

@flowerpower95

Dominique Cosmetics is my hands-down favorite eyeshadow brand, both for the formula and for the palettes-- I find them all so amazingly useful/versatile, wearable for everyday but also inspiring for hot looks. I have all but the latest two of her palettes so far.

Hard to set an order for the next brands in line. Probably Too Faced, because they are usually more buildable instead of being immediately heavy duty pigmented, which suits the colors of their palettes well, and they blend easily and last on my eyes. I also have a bunch of their palettes, just ordered Peachy Mattes from their site yesterday, it's discontinued and I've always wanted it. Almost said Tarte instead, but they do too much of the same thing all the time, much as I enjoy them, and TF has a bit of an edge with shade range for my tastes.

Last, maybe ABH. The formula is fine, but the color stories are wonderful, IMO. It's nearly a tie with Winky Lux, but WL doesn't have as much to choose from, so...

Honorable mention: Sephora Collection puts out some great little palettes, In the more affordable brands I feel that Colourpop & Morphe perform very similarly, and I enjoy them; just getting around to trying BH, so can't comment on them. Haven't tried any other indie brand widely enough.

Re: Top eyeshadow brands??

Natasha Denona

Jeffree Starr

Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina

This was very difficult for me! As far as everyday wearability, Natasha Denona comes in first place, I’m 48 years old and it’s getting harder for me to pull off super trendy colors, especially on days that I have to take my drop off and pick up my 6th grader at school!
So whenever Jeffree Starr came out with the O R G Y  pallet a while back it was a godsend! It’s everything but boring and you can use it with other pallets where there lacking those basic transition shades because the range of colors and tones are virtually endless…and the quality is exactly what you’re expecting from a $69 pallet…it’s flippin worth every mother loving dime! I love it!
Then enter the Norvina pro pigment line from ABH. Have I ever tried a more exquisite, more pigmented eyeshadow in my 48 years?…nope, not even Natasha or Jeffree has Norvina beat, but some of the shades that she throws in these pallets just irritate me to no end! I’m 48…I don’t want or need neon orange, yellow, green or any shade or red at all! So that’s an issue with ABH Norvina…other than that…I’m in love with the pallets and the formula of the shadows!

 Natasha Denona Zendo pallet

favorite color is Relief- a peachy pink matte, second favorite is Yama, a duo chrome light peachy bronze with green effects, third favorite is Sense, a pink copper. These shades go well with my fair complexion with pink undertones and light, icy blue eyes, especially the greens and bronzes in the pallet.

Jeffree Starr O R G Y pallet

I honestly cannot choose a favorite shade, I love the pinks and the burnished colors the best I suppose and they’re so many different ones. I love to pair this pallet with others, especially with greens, plums and blues. This pallet is available at Beautylish.com for those who are interested. I had to space the letters in this pallet, it’s was censoring me otherwise! 😂

Norvina Vol I

C5 and E5 both are a burnished brown, one is slightly warmer than the other but very similar in color. Quality is impeccable. You need oil based cleanser to remove  or it stains your eyelids.
Norvina Vol III

C3, a pinkish sand matte, C4 a burnished brick/dark terracotta matte, E2, warm burnished brick reddish brown, E1, True Jade green matte, E3, Bright orange/peachy pink

It’s not easy whenever you love eyeshadow and you’re 48, and have been wearing it since the 80’s! 😉

Re: Top eyeshadow brands??

@flowerpower95
I have so many palettes and three is kind of hard

Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette 18 x 0.03 oz/ 0.85 g I love the purples shades in the palette as well as the neutral brown/bronze shades. I like to mix a couple of the shades together and don’t commit to using one shade all over my lids.

Natasha Denona Bronze Eyeshadow Palette I love mixing the bronze and gold shades

PAT McGRATH LABS Mothership V Eyeshadow Palette - Bronze Seduction Blitz Flame is my favorite. I use it as an eye liner but also use the dark brown shades in the palette

Urban Decay Born To Run Eyeshadow Palette 21 x 0.02 oz/ 0.80 g I love all the shades. You can create so many looks with this palette
