Too prime or conceal that is the question

I would like to hear everyones point of view about using concealer vs eye shadow primer or both. Is it a waste of product to use both or it is wise? Whatโ€™s your thoughts make up lovers.

Re: Too prime or conceal that is the question

I have oily lids but my eyeshadow stays on just fine when I use concealer and dust a bit of powder on top.

I tried the urban decay eyeshadow primer and hated it.  The primer wouldn't go on smoothly at all and my eyelids would look all wrinkly.  I tried applying the primer with a brush, beauty blender and fingers and nothing worked.

Personally i mix my concealer and eye primer together with a powder on top

@MrsKwilliams Concealer alone as a base doesnโ€™t work for everyone especially if you have oily lids. Itโ€™s great to cancel color but may not be enough to extend eyeshadow wear. I use MAC prep and prime 24 hour eye base.

RE: Re: Too prime or conceal that is the question

Is that better than urban decay eye primer?

RE: Too prime or conceal that is the question

@MrsKwilliams honestly, I never use a shadow primer. I always my concealer (Tarte Shape Tape) and have never had any issues.

Ok. Does your shadows show pigmented if you use bright colors?

RE: Too prime or conceal that is the question

Yes! Iโ€™ve never had an issue. I have been using Jaclyn hills volume II x Morphe palette and her shadows are soooo vibrant!

My favorite combo is a primer and then a powder, usually banana powder, on top of eyelids before eyeshadow. Iโ€™ve gotten my best results from this!

Thanks. What primer do you use?
