To use or not eyeshadow primer

Is it really worth investing in a quality eyeshadow primer?

Re: To use or not eyeshadow primer

Definitely! Im a brown skin girl so in order for colors to show up on my skin, eye primer is A MUST! Plus it keeps the eyeshadow nice & bright all day!

Re: To use or not eyeshadow primer

@NInapolooza I have to use an eye primer because I have oily lids. It really depends on your skin.

Re: To use or not eyeshadow primer

@NInapolooza  Depends on how eyeshadow normally performs on your eyelids. If eyeshadows don’t usually crease, transfer/move, or fade throughout the day on your lids, then maybe you don’t need a primer on your lids. If you do have any of those problems, a good eyeshadow primer can help a lot—especially if you have oily lids.

My lids are drier than most people’s, but I have hooded eyes. Without eyeshadow primer, most shadows crease a lot and transfer from my lid up onto my brow bone. So I use a fairly grippy primer that holds shadows in place but still lets me easily blend ‘em out. I never put setting powder on my eyeshadow primer before applying shadows; that defeats the purpose of the primer.

There are some eyeshadows I can use without primer. Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Waterproof Cream Eyeshadow Stick , for instance: I can even use a couple shades of that shadow stick as a primer base for powder shadows. And Danessa Myricks Beauty Colorfix - Multi-Use Eye, Cheek & Lip Waterproof Liquid Pigment Matcha  (can’t tag product without randomly picking a shade) works well on my lids as a liquid shadow without a primer.

Re: To use or not eyeshadow primer

No, I would say that is a waste of money. if you really want you can use the morphe setting eye powder, its really good!

Hope that helps!!
