I have very long lashes, but they are extremely straight: unless the mascara is not waterproof, my lashes go down once I apply a coat of mascara. However, I wanted to buy a non-waterproof mascara since I've heard that the constant use of waterproof mascara damages your lashes. Any suggestions? I really want my curl to stay in! 

For reference: I've tried the KUSH mascara, the Roller Lash and the Bad Gal Bang!

The Clinique tubing mascaras... Off the top of my head, I know the High Impact Curling Mascara (that Sephora, unfortunately, stopped carrying), Lash Power, and Lower Lash are on the list, but there's probably more...

2 coats, combing lashes out in between, let them dry, then use a heated lash curler (sounds scary, but it's just like a mascara wand and curling iron had a baby... Eats through batteries like a mofo, but it's the only thing that works to curl my stick-straight lashes and, most importantly, stay curled and upright all day).

Your lashes will feel a little weird the first few times, because they have to be the exact opposite of "feathery soft" to stay put - but I promise they will! And, best of all, even with the heat they are about as gentle on your lashes as mascaras come, and stay put until you wash them off with facewash - I use PHILOSOPHY - Purity Made Simple Cleanser and warm water.

@ndrrslbnzslrz My lashes are very straight so I use the Shu Uemura S Curler since my eyes are small and afterwards I apply Monsieur Big mascara from Lancôme. My eyelashes look so great they almost look like I’m wearing falsies !

I have stick straight long lashes that have zero natural curl and I know how difficult that is to work with (like what's the point of long lashes that don't curl?!). My tips:

1.) Use an eyelash curler underneath your mascara. I really like SHISEIDO - Eyelash Curler.

2.) Look for a good curling mascara. Like you, I've tried plenty that didn't work or didn't hold up a curl. I've recently become obsessed with HOURGLASS - Caution™ Extreme Lash Mascara because it's the only mascara that actually gives me noticeable curl that holds up for a couple of hours. It's also not waterproof.

Other than a permanent eyelash curl (does that even exist?!), it's about experimenting and trying new things.
