Suggestions needed please for muddy shadow

I’m 51 and my kids are beginning to droop a little. Something I’m struggling with, and have for years is keeping my shadow from looking muddy. I use good shadow, bushes, primer, you name it. Can anyone recommend suggestions or maybe a YouTube channel to watch some videos? I even bought a MAC pot shadow/base and applied it on my lid, patted on my shadow, and an hour later my shadow looks like crap. It’s all muddied and no definition whatsoever. I gave up and rarely even wear makeup anymore.

@beaner67 try using smaller brushes on the outer crease a smallish blending brush in the crease,a clean blending brush for blending edges and flatter brushes for the lid small detail brushes for your outter corner, and I've noticed that natural hair brushes are really good and picking up the pigment, hope this helps some 😊

NARS Pro-Prime™ Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base Original

or another tacky primer is great for hooded eyelids. The Mac paint pot creases on me.

Applying eyeshadow after my skincare routine tends to make it stick better too, but if I do it in the afternoon when my skin is oily, the shadow slides off.

If you are looking for some YouTube channels for over 30. Angie from Hot and Flashy is great and does mostly “for mature” skin as she calls it. Wayne Goss and Stephanie Marie are great for over 30 and do a lot of techniques, especially Wayne. Good luck!

Also seconding Wayne Goss!

Some like to used concealer and then lightly tap a bit of setting powder on it then spray with setting spray then apply Thee eyeshadow on with a brush with a bit of the setting spray on the brush as well before applying it but I don’t know the colors your using and how u like it applied but it’s a lot of little things that can come in to play as well it’s easier for me to see and show u what I would do but that’s a suggestion😉 but u did start at a good spot the Mac primer pots but some think primer is a waste as a posed to a good moisturizer ??? But all things considered I think u should sit w a master makeup consultant and she what your saying bring pictures even if before then after u put in ur eye makeup and then when it looks “muddy” and see what they’d suggested and go from there, Hope it helps at all.
