Should I Get Eyelash Extensions?

I have always wanted the look of longer and thicker lashes, and I have seen these new eyelash extensions that you can get professionally done. Should I consider getting them? If not, what mascara would you recommend to get the look of longer and thicker lashes? Will the eyelash extensions damage my natural lashes? How much does it cost to get them professionally done?

I personally got eyelash extensions done professionally for two whole years. I went to a professional who was very well trained and educated about the process, so my real lashes didn't get severely damaged. A con for me was, I have naturally long eye lashes. After getting rid of my lash extensions, it became really hard for me to curl my natural lashes. For some odd reason, my natural lashes got super straight! @Beaniebebe - I've finally found my holy grail lash serum that helped enhance my top and bottom lashes. I use the Lancer Lash Serum Intense! I had eyelash extensions for 7 months. I absolutely loved them.  But you do have to get them filled every 2-3 weeks so it is about $120-$145/month depending on where you get them done.  That is the only reason I stopped getting mine done.  I didn't have my lashes fall out and they weren't super hard to maintain besides having to go in every 2 weeks but I didn't mind that because it was like a spa treatment, so relaxing.  Extensions look WAY better than any fake eyelashes or even lashes after you use serums etc. There is no comparison. I couldn't believe how beautiful my eyes looked. So I would recommend them if you are ok with spending that much money. Otherwise, conditioners and serums are great to make your natural lashes look their best.

Which serums or conditioners do you recommend?

The only one I have used is the Jane Iredale eyelash conditioner.  I started using it a few months after I got my extensions off and I noticed a big difference with the length of my eyelashes.

I’ve been using Vaseline and castor oil for the last month and it has made a huge difference. I know have long full lashes!

I recommend using an eyelash lengthening serum, rather than extensions.  It's cheaper and they work!  I've used RevitaLash (not sold at Sephora, but 20% off right now at Lovely Skin ------).  I also hear good things about Grande Lash here at Sephora.

Eyelash extensions look great, but can be risky. My cousin got them, and they look beautiful on her, but there is a risk that your eyelashes could fall out completely. Also you can’t rub your eyelashes and you have to be really careful. It really depends on what you want to do. There are a lot of mascaras that can make you look like you are wearing falsies. Hope this helps!

I would enthusiastically recommend Rodan & Fields eyelash serum. My actual eyelashes (if you use it everyday) grew at the very least 30% in length and curled upward after about a month and a half.

Eyelash extensions are beautiful! However you have to take into accountthat you have to keep up with fills every 2 weeks, most lash technicians charge $100 for a full set and $45 for a fill. Which can be pricey. Also, they can be damaging to your natural lashes because when they fall out they pull your natural lash out too. If you’re a glam girl like me it will drive you crazy not being able to do many looks with eyelash extensions because you can’t wear any eye makeup that has any oil in the ingredients. -Liquid liner, mascara and eyeshadow because it will make your lashes fall out faster. However, if your more of a foundation mascara and brows kind of girl.. Get them 100% they are great for rolling out of bed and heading out the door! If you choose not to get them, get the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara! It’s amazingggg

My friend got them done and she is constantly complaining about maintaining them. It depends on how dedicated you are to your eyelashes. Either way you're beautiful!
