Shimmer/glitter eyeshadow

I noticed that when in makeup tutorials I try to play the shimmer on the eyeshadow but it doesn’t stick or pop as much as I’d like it to. I need help to try to figure out how it works.

I would say a nice primer like the too faced glitter glue should help. I love all things glitter and it holds glitter all day. The other part of the equation is a nice shadow. Anastasia Beverly Hills makes some nice shimmers in their palettes, and Nyx has a very nice liquid glitter shadow.

A glitter primer would help. I love the too faced Glitter Primer. You apply it just before you're going to put on glitter or shimmer. It has a tacky texture which allows the pigment to stick to it. I also like to apply glitter or shimmer with my fingers it has better pay off. You could wet your brush with some setting spray then apply. Hope that helps! @tamalenoodle

Try the any of the STILA - Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow

I wear a lot of eyeshadow daily and I always put a little of these on my lids and best believe you can go subtle for a cute sparkle or full on KESHA status to get you ready for that summer VEGAS look hahaha.

Spray a setting spray of your choice on your brush and then dip/tap into the shadow and tap on eye. Setting spray help it pop and adhere.

@tamalenoodle try using a light-colored opaque eyeshadow primer to help the actual eyeshadow pigment show up better or a glitter glue to really allow the shadow to adhere well.  It can also be really helpful to use a little Mac Fix+ sprayed lighty onto the shadow brush (although even just lightly dampening the brush will do) to really allow more metallic shadows to "melt" and create a more intense effect.

RE: Shimmer/glitter eyeshadow

I haven’t tried it myself but in the videos I’ve watched I notice that a concealer or maybe a primer is applied before the glitter eyeshadow to help it grip. Just a thought!
