Setting Powder

I need recommendations for a setting powder that does not look dry and ashy. I have 40+ year old under-eye skin. I moisturize and conceal.

RE: Setting Powder

I’d say try the Cover FX Perfect setting powder. It comes in two different shades and it’s on the “Clean @ Sephora” list, meaning it’s talc-free, mineral oil-free, fragrance-free, phthalate-free, etc. I dust it under my eyes after concealer and it does a great job at setting and smoothing the area out. I also use it to set my foundation before I go in with bronzer, blush & highlight. Hope this helps!

Hi @PrettyGem,

If you have dry skin, look for a setting powder that is hydrating so it won't make your makeup look cakey or dry. I really like the BECCA - Hydra-Mist Set & Refresh Powder.

@PrettyGem I love love Huda beauty baking powder and hourglass setting powder

For loose powder, my favorite is GIVENCHY - Prisme Libre Loose Powder

The powder actually comes in a few different shades and is just so silky and fine. I have both the mousseline pastel and the taffetas beige, both give a perfect matte finish with just the lightest touch, the mousseline is a bit more red-canceling if you need that sort of thing. Comes with a puff, but I prefer fluffy brushes for application, a little goes a long way, the container lasts FOREVER.

For pressed powder, CHARLOTTE TILBURY - Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder

hands down. Comes in 3 shades and the "airbrush" claim is for real, I am never without this powder for traveling (or doing makeup at my desk). Works great with fluffy natural haired brushes as well, I used shade 2 and the tint only becomes noticeable (barely) by the end of the summer when I'm at my most tan (Nars Stromboli/Barcelona range otherwise) and there is a shade 3 for deeper tones. Probably a swatch in person situation, but the pressed powder is worth it.

Setting Powder

I really like Huda Beauty's Easy Bake powder for setting and la mer's the powder for finishing and buffing(:
