Overwhelmed by eye creams... help!!

I’ve struggled with dark circles under my eyes since my teen years. I have almost porcelain coloured skin tone with very thin skin under my eyes. I end up always looking tired. I have dark purple circles. I just turned 30 back in December. I know how to cover up the dark circles with make up but I wanted to try an eye cream to improve this issue, if possible. I’m really overwhelmed with all of the products Sephora carries.... some look good but then you look at reviews and it’s a 50/50 draw. I have no idea what I should look for at all. Some are also so ridiculously expensive with no sample sizes to try!! Please help a lady out! No idea what to even try 😩

RE: Overwhelmed by eye creams... help!!

I have fallen in love with the dermalogica biolumin c eye serum. Then I use a cream over that if I need more hydration. Daytime I use Bobbi Brown hydrating eye cream and night I used TNS by skinmedica

You could try products with niacinamide, and if you eat a lot of sugar, try cutting that out entirely. I’ve read that it ups yeast production and worsens hyperpigmentation or worsens skin that is genetically predisposed to darkening. I use Banana Bright serum along with a couple of products from Good Molecules (currently not available through Sephora 😞 ) i found for me , a lot of it was stress mgmt through mindfulness, consuming water and healthy fats (fatty fish, avocado, nuts) , sleep, and a nice silk (not satin) eyemask.

I just want to concur with this. So much of it is what you eat/drink. Sugar in our drinks and foods can cause so much of the problem. In addition to diet, sleep and water consumption. I love Laneige and Dr. Jart products. I’m close to 40 and people, no exaggeration, think I’m a kid. (My height doesn’t help but my skin is in great condition). Full disclosure, former Sephora @ JCP employee.

If you've had dark circles for most of your life, it is likely genetic and unfortunately there's probably not a lot creams are going to do, @megalomaniac89. Make sure you're drinking a lot of water and keeping it hydrated. On the BIC, the FARMACY - Cheer Up Brightening Vitamin C Eye Cream with Acerola Cherry and DR. DENNIS GROSS SKINCARE - Ferulic + Retinol Triple Correction Eye Serum get a lot of love. The SEPHORA COLLECTION - Brightening Eye Cream – Hydrate & Depuff is also new and getting some love and is more affordable.

As someone whose undereyes turned into giant purple crescents at age 16, I sadly have to agree. I've been trying new creams for 40 years, and none of them had any real effect.

Make sure you don't increase the problem with hard pressure in the area and take the dietary tips above to heart. Not knocking the creams mentioned, there's always hope--

Also, sleeping on your back with your head slightly elevated can help improve [puffiness a lot and circles some, after a while. It's also good for your heart.
