Newbie make up brush sets??

Hi!! I'm relatively new to using quality make up and am looking for a good brush set.  Not looking to spend a fortune as it's just for personal use and my skills are fairly basic, but I want something that will get the job done and last for a while.  Sephora collection brush sets are catching my eye, has anyone used them or have one to recommend?  I'm looking for skin and eye brushes.  Thanks!

And apparently this is going for $15 when the weekly wows unveil on the 5 October! https://www.sephora.com/product/eyes-uncomplicated-brush-set-P420007?om_mmc=oth-bt-sst-20171005-wnw-...

The Tarte 'back to school' brush set is amazing value. The brushes are regular Tarte quality. Only downside is if you don't like double ended brushes, for me that's not an issue as I keep them in a pencil box in my makeup bag. https://www.sephora.com/product/back-to-school-tools-brush-set-P421776?skuId=1983139&icid2=products%...

Re: Newbie make up brush sets??

Wayne Goss eye brush set (Beautylish) is a good investment for a beginner. These brushes pretty much do the work for you. Real Techniques (Ulta, Target, etc) have some nice affordable face brushes. You can also look into Sigma brushes if you want a large set that has a bit of everything.

Morphe quality is crap (inconsistent at best), please don't waste your money.

I'm looking at Sephora's "Ready to Roll Brush Set"..do you own any of Sephora's brushes?  The reviews seem good from what I've seen.

Re: Newbie make up brush sets??

My first brush set was from BH cosmetics.  They and Morphe, and ELF have good sets all with a range of both eye and face brushes.  If you want something to just practice with, there are so many inexpensive sets out there that will work.  I would just make sure they include a flat buffer brush, powder brush, fan brush, blending brush for eyes, crease brush, and a flat shader brush.  I think those are the basics.
