Matching eyeshadow with clothes?

How much of a faux pas is it to match your eyeshadow with part of your outfit? If I wore khaki pants, a chambray shirt, and a burnt orange cardigan, would it be bad if I wore an eyeshadow look that was warm coppery-orangey gold? Or is it neutral enough that it wouldn't be a big deal?

Thanks!

RE: Matching eyeshadow with clothes?

As long as you blend colors well I don’t see a problem added at least one of the colors that has some connection to your clothing.

Not a faux pas at all! I always get compliments when my eyeshadow matches my outfit.

Re: Matching eyeshadow with clothes?

I'd say go for it! Eyeshadow brings out certain colours in your appearance even more, so why not highlight a colour it seems like you enjoy?

Today I am wearing copper eyeshadow and someone complimented me on how well it matched my red hair. Of course it's all individual preference but it's not like you're dressed head-to-toe copper. Khaki would also complement the choice of eyeshadow.

Re: Matching eyeshadow with clothes?

If I were you I would go with a matte brown eye look, but I feel a coppery eye look might be too much with the burnt orange. Maybe a copper eye look with a red flannel would work:)
