Mascara question

Hey ladies Iโ€™m new to the group! A coworker was asking how do you get your mascara to stop transferring below her eyes? She has oily skin i guess. I do too but i havenโ€™t had that problem.

RE: Mascara question

The biggest thing for me is waterproof mascara- the best one Iโ€™ve used is the Lancรดme monsieur big waterproof mascara! Also, baking your under eyes with a good powder helps a lot of youโ€™re wearing foundation or concealer

Re: Mascara question

@Monika83  I have this problem too, although my skin isn't oily so not sure why it happens?!  My favored solution is tubing mascaras, like L'Oreal Double Extend Beauty Tubes, or Estee Lauder Double Wear Zero Smudge Lengthening Mascara.   They're totally smudge-proof for me, although may not work for every one.  Otherwise, a mascara topcoat like Clarins Double Fix  or NYX Proof It! will do the trick.

Re: Mascara question

@Monika83 I know Youtuber Carli Bybel has this problem and she sets her under eyes with powder and then applies the mascara to prevent transfer and then when it dries wipes the powder away

Mascara question

Eyeshadow primer should keep it from sticking to skin from blinking.

RE: Mascara question

Iโ€™d suggest water proof mascara if she hasnโ€™t tried that route already. I know itโ€™s a bit difficult to remove at night but it will slip right off if she used a cleansing oil.

Re: Mascara question

@Monika83 the advice that @lmaster gave would be my first recommendation as well and I'll add one that may or may not be as appealing.  Has your coworker tried simply switching mascaras?  Sometimes it just takes trying a different formula if she's not extremely partial to a specific one.

Mascara question

@Monika83 I use an eyelash primer before adding mascara, I never get transfer, the one in currently using is from Milk makeup, but lancome has a nice one also

RE: Mascara question

Thanks! I told her to give this a try and see first! I never really understood what mascara primer purpose was

Re: Mascara question

I second @lmaster's recommendation. Using a mascara primer helps my mascara stay in place. I have oily eyelids, too and a primer helps set my mascara. My favorite is the DIOR - Diorshow Maximizer 3D Triple volume plumping lash primer.
