Mascara for Sensitive Eyes?

Hey guys! I've been on a mad hunt for a good sensitive eye mascara for ages... and settled on the Besame cake mascara. It isn't that great for my eyes... it does great for my lashes, though. I have super sensitive eyes, and my ophthalmologist told me to find one for sensitive eyes. Is there such a thing? Help me, please!

RE: Mascara for Sensitive Eyes?

I just mentioned this in another thread but all mascaras would basically make my eyes water and make my nose run to the point where I got a tension headache or sometimes a migraine. I wear contacts too. I would try to wear mascara to go see a movie and even that was pushing my limits. But recently I have started using a fan brush or something similar on my eyelashes and now I can wear mascara all day! The brand doesn't seem to matter for me but the Tarte purple mascara is the least noticeable on my eyelashes. My go to waterproof is Too Faced Better than Sex. Hope you find something that works for you!

I love all the Bare Minerals mascaras because all of their makeup is super gentle

I totally understand this! I have returned so many mascaras that have freaked out my eyes for various, unknown reasons. I have had wonderful luck with Tarte Opening Act primer with Buxom mascara. the primer helps the mascara stay put so no flaking and it moisturizes my lashes so the stay soft and make mascara removal a piece of cake.

Re: Mascara for Sensitive Eyes?

I have really sensitive eyes as well and have had a really hard time wearing mascara for more than a few hours before my eyes get super itchy. Unfortunately I do think a lot of it is trial and error and finding what works for you.

The brand that has been super helpful and great for my eyes is called beauty without cruelty (BWC). I bought it at whole foods in their beauty department but you can also get it online. It comes in a normal and volumizing formula and I can wear both for good amount of time.

From sephora I usually do ok with the Peter Thomas Roth Mascara. Some days I will get itchy later on but overall I can wear the mascara most of the day without having an allergic reaction.

Almay and Clinque are both known for having sensitive eyes mascara! I personally was allergic to both of those but its something you could try out! Someone at sephora also suggested the tarte amazonian clay mascara that did not work out for me either.

Re: Mascara for Sensitive Eyes?

I also have the same problems the only three I have found that work are it cosmetics super hero and another I forgot the name but it’s in a black tube with a soft gripper on top or too faced better than sex in regular and water proof formulas. Almay burned my eyes almost worse than any other brands I have tried. I think high end sensitive to eyes is the only way to go. I want to try Clinique because I have had a lot of luck with all of their products and I feel their mascaras are probably just as good.
